Letters from Motherless Daughters: Words of Courage, Grief, and Healing

Item was in excellent condition. Speedy delivery, and this book is absolutely excellent for any daughter who has lost her Mom. This book helped me greatly as my Mom passed away 16 months ago. I actually bought this copy because my previous copy got ruined by accident when one of my children accidently spilled their drink on it. This book helped me so much I purchased this one within a week of the other one having to be thrown away. Highly recommend this book. A+ all the way. Especially through the grieving process you realize more than ever you are not alone in your grief and will never stop missing that loss even for those that didn't have a close knit relationship with their Moms. ❤🌹

I have gained much insight and encouragement from Hope Edelman's series of books on "Motherlessness". My mother is mentally ill, but I related to almost all of the experiences written by women that lost their mothers to death early in their childhood. I found that the "Motherless Mother" book was the greatest help to me and had plenty of applicable letters in it. After I read my purchased copy of "Letters from Motherless Daughters", I donated it to the our local library where I had checked out Edelman's other books. I think each person processes grief differently and I know that someone else will benefit greatly from that copy. Thank you to Hope and all the women that shared their experiences so that others could learn how to put words to their own experiences.

I read this book after the sudden passing of my mom, several years ago. I was glad to see it back in print again. It helped with dealing with the grief of losing my mother. I have given it to several people who have lost their moms overs the years.

I lost my mother when I was nine-years-old. I'm a 67 year-old-male. I'm thought of as friendly, well educated, somewhat intelligent, and vocationally successful. When my mother died, my life changed irrevocably. I am not the same person I would have become, had my beloved mother lived even a few more years.Hope Edelman's Letters from Motherless Daughters: Words of Courage, Grief, and Healing is exactly what the title says it is, words from women who lost their mothers at an early age and how it's impacted their lives.Much of what's written in the book is applicable to both men and women. For me, there were no answers; just an understanding that my sense of loss is shared by many others.

Gave this to a friend as help for a friend and she says it is very helpful. She is only 30 so it obviously is good for the loss of a mother at a young age.

A moving and interesting collection of letters resulting from the dedicated and unique work of Hope Edelman, who's book, 'Motherless Daughters' filled a great need for many going through the loss of a mother in all stages of life. Highly recommend.

Very moving, but beyond that, a provider of wonderful insights on this difficult subject.

Fantastic book. Wish I'd found it sooner. 17 years and still looking for answers. I think I've found my tribe now!!!

As a woman who lost her mother at a young age, this book has brought me some comfort, long overdue. In our family we have suffered that loss for 26 years, still as tragic as it was in 1990. This book is helping me with understanding and the ability to reframe my experience. An important read that will allow those of us still suffering to shed light on the process of grief, and of the search for a new perpective and healing.

Again this book helped me so much in my continued pain over losing my mother 40 years ago. In relating to other motherless daughters I am able to take a different perspective on life and the hand I was dealt at 14 years of age.
