The product description has this baffling term "special ingredient: lutein" - just to optimize their search results. am i wrong? misleading, right?

I think it says you can get zeaxanthin with lutein not that this has both. It doesn't. Funny though, my mom's eye Dr said not to take both at the same time, that your body won't absorb all of both if taken together. He said take both, but at a different time during the day She has macular degeneration. He also said take AREDS2, again not at the same time as the other 2. Space them out. Hope this helps

The Expiration Date would be dependent on when the batch was packaged and shipped from the manufacturer. The FDA sets the parameters according to some geek formula that probably has little bearing on reality. I wouldn't worry about the expiration date. Most good stores pull expired things from the shelf anyway, so your chances of getting an old batch are very slim. Just stick with reliable retailers that your trust.
