How can I verify the needles I received are genuine Janome needles?

It is not difficult to determine if the needles you have been sold are genuine Janome needles. All Janome’s needles are actually made in Taiwan by Organ. The needles will have “Organ” and the size of needle stamped into the rounded side of the shaft. Regardless of how they are packaged, they are the genuine article if the shaft is stamped with the manufacturers name, “Organ.” You will never find a needle stamped with Janome. Janome doesn’t make their own needles. Instead they have them private labeled by Organ.

what's the difference between the purple tip 90/14 and red tip 90/14 needle?

Purple Tip Needles are designed to prevent skipped stitches with heavy fabrics, including knits, while doing sewing and embroidering. They feature a ball point tip to prevent fabric thread breakage and a special cobra shaped head to form a proper needle thread loop so that it prevents skipped stitches caused by the fluctuation of the fabric. Purple Tip Needles are recommended for embroidery with a high-density design and/or thick fabric, fluffier thread like cotton, quilting multiple layers which normally resist needle penetration, sewing knit, tricot, and synthetic fabrics like thick polyester. Red tip needs are a size 14 and have a larger eye of the needle to accommodate heavier threads, pampers delicate metallics that tend to shred and split, and makes needle threading easier.. They are recommended for general sewing of medium weight fabrics. Hope that helps answer some of your questions! I have no idea you would need to check with your Janome dealer.

Will these needles work for other machines ?

Check your manual. My pkg doesn't list other machines. I have two different machines, different needles. Thread feed thru needles are different.

Meine Jamie näht meine JRR mit jedem Garn, auch dem günstigen und in schnellem Tempo so zuverlässig, wie ich es von ihr gewohnt bin. Null Fehlstiche. Dobby ist glücklich!

Purple Needle!

My Janome 9410QC just loves this needle. I've found that it is a daily use needle for most of my projects. This is THE goto needle for being durable in quilts, jelly roll rugs to just piecing together projects. I bought this size for my rugs and found out it is a perfect size. It's easy to thread using your machine threader as it's not to thick. The eye of the needle is fine for self threading as well. Compatible on the following: Janome Memory Craft 9410QC, Janome Coverpro, Janome 4 needle embroidery, Janome 550ele, Bernina Record 730, Bernina 770 QE Plus, Brother Se2000, SINGER HD. Every one of my machines seem to play nice with this needle. They can get pricey but they do work. If you are having skipped stitches, try this needle out. That's how I realized how much I needed this particular needle.
