Best from Hawaii - Roasted Beans in a 1lb Vacuum Sealed Re-closable Bag with one way degassing valve. : Grocery & Gourmet Food Review: Beginning to get too expensive. I no longer buy this coffee - I've now purchased nine pounds. It was unavailable for a while. Updated 10/1/2018 It's real Kona for a great price. The flavor is earthy and chocolatey. Go to Gold stars website for bulk deals! Otherwise I wouldn't buy it. It's Excellent, beyond expectations considering the price. It also just came overnight without spending more than $27.99. My water wasn't pure when I started drinking this coffee. It is just as refined as all top of the line Kona's in the world. Based on its price and taste, you're getting a quality product. I love the roast. Classic Medium, with no oil. Kona shouldn't be oily. The best aren't. You also NEED to consider the water. It should be purified. Let's face it, if you're using an old coffee pot, maybe your coffee pot is nasty!!!. Anything you buy you'll dislike. Until you drink it on vacation from a fresh maintained coffee pot. I just got another pound. I see it's gotten popular. It's great coffee. The newest beans are large and tasty. I just purchased my fifth round in three months. It's better than I thought!!! I'm going to buy a fifth pound. Every pound has been fine. How many people have ordered six pounds of this coffee. It has all been excellent. Making my next purchase now. Make that ten pounds now. Review: Excellent Value for decent quality Kona - I've purchased several brands of Kona here on desertcart as well as had friends bring some back to me from their vacation in Hawaii. I was hesitant to order this based on the cost, which was significantly less per pound than many other brands. When the beans arrived, they were not particularly oily, nor did they exude a super fresh aroma, but they were also not stale and overly dry. They were comparable to most brands I've received (and I've found that if you order the same Kona over and over, every bag varies in how fresh/oily/aromatic it is, even though it is the same beans, same company). Most importantly, the coffee tastes very good. It is easily comparable to brands costing twice as much. There isn't a brand on desertcart with multiple reviews where someone isn't complaining that the coffee doesn't taste like "real" Kona or the "Kona I remember..." etc.. I didn't grow up in Hawaii and I've only visited once, but I order a lot of Kona. These beans produce a cup of coffee or expresso the taste of which falls within the same flavor range as every other quality brand I've tried. It's not bitter, it has the characteristic Kona flavor. I'd probably go with 4 stars instead of 5, but the value makes this brand a very good deal. For a price-conscious shopper, this is worth a try.

Excellent Value for decent quality Kona
I've purchased several brands of Kona here on Amazon as well as had friends bring some back to me from their vacation in Hawaii. I was hesitant to order this based on the cost, which was significantly less per pound than many other brands. Very Nice 100% Kona Bean Blend
Very good and very smooth Kona. Barely any acidity and no off flavors, has a sweet earthy finish. Seems to be a blend of different Kona beans - package was completely unmarked. Worth my buying again.

Freshest most delicious beans available.
I have sampled coffee from about the world. While I enjoyed peaberry from several farms I have never been happier with a coffee. This is perfect for morning joe or after a decadent dessert. The beans were the freshest I have ever purchased. Delicious rich not bitter, I will not be looking for coffee until this product changes. Update - I felt the need to attempt to reach the growers of this top of the line coffee. Whatever they are doing is the right thing to do and they are doing it right. While I am still in my first 10 pounds the consistency has been flawless. Each and every cup as wonderful as the last. Again, please forward my thanks and compliments on to those that produce this coffee. Thanks

Good coffee, fair Kona
This coffee is too acidic to be good Kona. It reminds me of a harsh Guatemalan. To me, Kona should only have a touch of acidity. The bulk of the flavor should be earthy and a little ashy. Also this coffee is a little old, has an uneven roast, and about 20% of the beans are broken. For Kona prices, this coffee should have been roasted less than a month ago. It should have big, smooth beans with a deep brown roast. These beans fell well short of "Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Coffee."

great coffee at a more reasonable price
My husband loves Kona coffee because it is less acidic and bitter than most other kinds of coffee. However, it is also much more expensive than pretty much any other coffee. That said, this Kona coffee is a bit less expensive than others I've found in spite of its claim that it is not a blend. I asked him whether this or the other Kona coffee he loves is better, and he said he couldn't tell and would need to try them at the same time. That's a good sign, because he usually will tell me with certainty that the more expensive Kona coffee, which he tried first, is better than any other coffee. So if you love coffee, want to try something particularly good, and are willing to pay a little more for it, I'd definitely recommend this coffee.

How I prepare Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy Coffee with coffee POD
I love this coffee, but how I prepare the whole bean makes the difference in the boldness of the flavor. I grind the coffee using a high speed typical 2 blade coffee grinder. I grind the coffee for one full minute. That may seen like a lot of time but the goal is to grind the coffee into a fine powder. The finer the grind, the more surface area of the coffee. This is where I get the bold flavor. By bold I do not mean strong. I place a paper filter into the pod. The paper keeps the pod screens clean and unclogged. I fill the pod to the top, scrape off any excess so the coffee is level, close the pod lid. I brew on 8oz setting or if you like your coffee extra light, use the 10oz setting. I hope this gives someone an idea of how to prepare this coffee. There are many ways, but this is how , from experimentation, I prepare this coffee. I make 20 PODS, place them in a sealed plastic container to retain freshness. Takes about 1/2 hour.
