In addition to this special content, the map also includes an index with the locations of cities and towns and a clearly marked road network complete with distances and designations for for roads and highways, as well as secondary routes for those seeking to travel off the beaten path. The map covers the North and South Islands, Stewart Island and inset maps show many of the numerous outlying islands, including Chatham, Campbell, Antipodes, Kermadec and Auckland Islands. The North Island map includes Auckland, Bay of Islands, The Coromandel and Waitomo Caves, while the South Island map includes such popular destinations as Mount Cook National Park and the Southern Alps, Milford Sound, Abel Tasman National Park. All this information makes the map a perfect companion to National Geographic's New Zealand Traveler's Guide or any other guidebook. Every Adventure Map is printed on durable synthetic paper, making them waterproof, tear-resistant and tough โ capable of withstanding the rigors of international travel. Map Scale = 1:1,100,000 Sheet Size = 25.5" x 37.75" Folded Size = 4.25" x 9.25" Review: Great starting point - Omg found so many cool spots on this map. Going online can be overwhelming. Looking at this map is a great place to start Review: Nice map! - With the North Island on one side and the South Island on the other, it has plenty of detail for those planning a road trip in New Zealand. The scale is 1 inch to 17 miles (1:1,100,000). Lakes, rivers, and mountains, and contour lines are printed on the map in addition to the roads, towns and cities. It's easy to read, and is printed on a really tough material that can handle a lot of folding and unfolding. There are no inset maps detailing any of the cities, but this a great map for getting the big picture. Nice job, National Geographic!

New Zealand Revealed
This is a quality map that should bear up to road trip wear and tear. Very easy to read and the quality one expects from National Geographic. Details are well marked.

Preferred roadmap for NZ.
The National Geographic map for NZ has an acceptable scale of 1cm is 11 km and the paper is both waterproof and tear-resistant. I also bought the Michelin map for NZ, but this map is not waterproof & tear-resistant. The scale of this map is also too small, 1cm is 16 km! They could have put the north and south islands on either side of the map, increasing the scale. This is what National Geographic has done with their map for NZ. The National Geographic map is the clear winner for NZ.

This map saved our vacation!
We bought the map to plan our New Zealand vacation but it ended up being very useful when our GPS died on day one of our drive! With this map and minimal use of cell phone data, we drove around both Islands for three weeks.

Excellent
This map is very detailed and informative. It helped me plan for my trip by providing so much detail about the things to do in each area. It is made of paper that should stay dry and does not tear easily. Highly recommend.

Escala muy pequeรฑa
intentan meter tanta informaciรณn en una escala tan pequeรฑa que es casi imposible leer las informaciones. Los colores son agradables, para visualizar el mapa.

Large map, great detail 95cm x 65cm
Excellent map and large enough to plan a trip properly. I had bought the lonely planet guide book as it had a map in the back which was way too small to plan a trip. See the 2nd photo for comparison. This map is the real deal. Detail is excellent, north island on one side and South Island on the other. The map folds out to measure 95cm by 65cm.

Good to plan your trip
Well, National Geographic quality, what else would you expect! The map you really need to plan your NZ holiday. North Island on one side, South Island on the other. Folded so that in the car you will not have to be an acrobat to open it to the section you are driving through. The material is very pleasant to the feel and will not rip easily. All the main roads are on it and unless you are looking for some very special unsealed roads, it will show you the way to the sights that are worth including in your trip. It has been our companion for a very pleasant 6-week holiday in New Zealand.
