Fresh Sicilian Candied Orange Peel - Frank and Sal Bakery.. 1 Pound

Difficult to find candied orange peels in the stores near me. I saw this product and ordered it. Exactly what I needed for the cuccidati (Sicilian fig cookies) and the cannoli. Absolutely delicious!

Very fresh, good quality and delicious - not overly sweet, nice color . I will be using the candied orange slices in my Easter Grain Pie.

I used this in a Panettone. It was tender and easy to chop. The flavor was very orange and not overly sugared. I am looking forward to using the remainder of the package in other baked goods. I will definitely purchase this item again.

This candied orange peel was very fresh when it arrived! It was soft and easy to chop to use in baking homemade Panettone! Other brands are tough and hard to chop. This brand is great and will definitely purchase again!

It was soft but not chewy soft. It was candied but not soaking syrupy sweet. It was supposed to be "orange peel" but it came with the pith. The thickness of the pith and the orange rind strips ratio is 1:1. It doesn't taste good. I was annoyed and figuring out what to do about it. Here it is. 1. Sliced off each strip's pith (be patient); 2. Add orange peels + fresh orange juice + sugar + water to boil for about 30 minutes; 3. Separate each strip to air dry; 4. Coated with granulated sugar for each strip. Now, a half-done orange peel strip is completely done to my taste.

Arrived boiling hot, no insulation in this package. The flavor wasn’t bad, but the texture wasn’t to my liking- the rinds were too soft. Wasn’t for me

I am a chocolate covered orange peel fan. I like it with dark chocolate. I like it with good orange peel and good chocolate. It is not always easy to find, and it can be less than satisfactory depending upon where you buy it. In fact there are some horrible examples. Lately, and especially for Valentine’s Day, I have been making it for friends who are dear to me and who also like real dark chocolate orange peel. These strips of peel are nice and long. They actually taste like orange. They are perfect for dipping, and I can use any type of chocolate I would like to use. I have now purchased these multiple times, and the quality and the size of the pieces has been very consistent. I would highly recommend!!!

Homemade pandusa at Christmas has been a family tradition for decades. I was so happy to find this candied orange peel. It is not syrupy or overly sweet and it is easy to dice. I hope it will be available again soon.
