An excellent value upgrade, but remember that it isn’t magic either
This is a great little kit, don't get me wrong - it is great value and adds some small nice improvements but some of the reviews are outright misleading. No, this won’t increase your print quality basically at all Nor does it allow you to increase print speed in any way. The amount of factors that contribute to the end product of a print are many and tiny tweaks here and there can be either imperceptible or be the difference of printing a blob of ugly plastic spaghetti. Good calibration and tuning of your settings, steppers, flow rate, temps, retractions, leveling, and combing settings are going to have infinitely more of an impact on your print quality and speed than most physical upgrades and this product is no exception. If you want more out of your printer, look into those things first! Even if you have a 5 thousand dollar printer, it’s nothing without those tweaks! BUT That doesn’t mean it is a waste, far from it. I like this little kit and it’s a nice humble addition to my lovely soldier that is my Ender 3 Pro. My stock extruder clamp actually managed to snap one day after several months of use, but with this version I certainly won’t have that issue again! It fit really well and so long as you assemble it correctly, the tolerances and accuracy was excellent. Having tried one of the red “off brand” versions just prior, that thing sucked. This one has actual precision in its creation, I was actually amazed because I wasn’t really expecting much of a real difference either. I could go off about just how crappy the red one I got prior, but I digress. The Capricorn tubing is nice and it is better than the stock PTFE tubing, but it is also not magic either. The tolerances and precision of the tubing IS better, I checked. For most standard print materials like PLA and PETG, there is exactly zero difference using this, despite being superior. HOWEVER, with other filaments and special use cases, there IS a difference. Some TPUs and filaments that happen to run particularly hot (like, hot hot) you will actually find there is benefit to this tubing. I will give credit where credit is due there, I just don’t want people getting the wrong idea that these things just magically make better prints - it just isn’t that simple most of the time. The addition of the bed springs is, I mean, sure why not? I hope I don’t really need to explain that this isn’t going to be magic either, but they seem very well made and I imagine will hold their leveling for a while. At the end of the day - Yes it is a solid upgrade IF you have already given your printer the proper love and attention so it can do it’s best already. The added durability of parts and flexibility for options, coupled with a nice style - I do certainly recommend it. Just make sure you actually understand it before falling into the placebo of magically better prints like some reviews seem to have done. That isn’t anecdotal evidence that it doesn’t improve prints - It is just straight up not really how a 3D printer works. But if you want a lil upgrade for your Ender 3, by all means this is a good choice.

Perfect upgrade
Everything came packed in some transparent bags. The extruder is very easy to assemble, it came with instructions but they are not even necessary. Very satisfied with the product. You should take on account that this is not going to improve your print quality. This upgrade is intended to increse extrusion performance. The original extruder, plastic, can broke on time and it is more prone to skip. The metal one is intended to work for more time without issues. Also, I would highly recommend to attach an stress relief device before the extruder. It will reduce friction on the input hole and avoid hole wear. It is metal, yes, but 300m of PLA can erode that metal and kill your extruder. Edit: The Capricorn really is a mandatory upgrade. It will increase your print quality in another level. Currently, I changed from 4mm retract to 2mm and I'm thinking about setting it to 1mm. There is no stringing at all and the fit is just exact. One important point, it is so thigh I'm having trouble with filament change. Overall, I feels like having a direct extruder.

Very Easy
This is a solid product. There are limited instructions on instillation that come with the package. If my first review of this I was dumb enough to actually provide a link to the video that showed exactly how to put each part of this kit together. Amazon nerfed it due to that link so you'll have to do the leg work on your own. The extruder assembly is not as complicated as one might think. The springs are very stout compared to the stock version. You will probably need to adjust your Z axis stop. If you are buying this kit I suggest you go ahead and order the glass plate to finish out the upgrade. All in all it took me about 45 minutes to put everything in the kit together. One last but very important thing on the bowden tube. Make sure you cut it at a near perfect 90 degrees. This is extremely important. Also keep our clips from the original you will have to reuse them.

Looks great, but major design flaw -- UPDATES -- Seller corrected the issue!
UPDATE: 16 June 2020 The replacement kit arrived from the seller, and everything works perfectly. I would absolutely shop with this seller again, as they quickly reached out and actually solved the problem I was having. This has been among the best experiences I have had on Amazon, to date! UPDATE: 08 June 2020 After troubleshooting and using the kit for several weeks, it appears the the pneumatic (conpression) connector was defective. Customer service contacted me and offered to replace the defective part. The rest of the hardware works great. My stock Ender 3 did not come with the extruder tension spring adjustment, so that alone was worth the upgrade. ORIGINAL Review: The stock Ender 3 pneumatic connector (gold) for the bowden tube, does not allow the bowden tube to move all the way through the connector. You can see this in my first picture. The new connector (silver) allows the bowden tube to move completely through. This has resulted with the bowden tube being pulled slowly back to the extruder gear, with each retraction. This ends up pinching/crushing/snapping the filament. Every single print that I have tried after this upgrade has failed in the same way...the first 2 - 3 layers are perfect...and then the filament snaps. The compression clip keeps the tube from being pushed out of the connector, but there is nothing to stop it from being pulled in to the extruder. I tried to install my stock (gold) fitting, but it is too small to fit in the new extruder base.

Good Upgrade, But I Eventually Went Direct Drive
This upgrade kit definitely helped improve my printer. The all-metal extruder feels much more durable than the stock plastic one, and the Capricorn Bowden tube provided more consistent filament feeding. The upgraded bed springs also helped reduce how often I had to re-level the bed. Overall, it’s a solid improvement over the factory setup and worth it if you’re staying with a Bowden configuration. It made things more reliable and reduced some of the common issues. That said, I eventually switched to a direct drive setup. While this kit improved performance, direct drive ultimately gave me better control and consistency, especially with certain filaments. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to upgrade your Ender before going all-in on direct drive, this is a good step forward. Just know that if you’re chasing maximum consistency, you may still end up upgrading further down the line.

Why didn’t I do this sooner
What can I say to convince you to get this? Let me start with what I am running. I have an ender 3 v2 with a hictop pei flex bed plate. Updated bed springs, and that’s really all. For the time of owning this printer I’ve upgraded a few things but never the extruder component. Didn’t think it was a necessity, I mean I was getting prints right? Would something so simple make that much of a difference? Well one day trying to print and my filament was not being extruded correctly. My e-steps, I thought we’re on point but i increased them to see if that would fix it. No amount of increase helped, it was inconsistent, spotty, crappy, and down right disgusting. I took apart the plastic extruder to find the arm had cracked along the gear housing, just like so many people have happen before. I looked at dual gear extruders, not knowing if it would be that important for what I print and decided to get this one. Immediately after instal I checked my e-steps and once I returned it to where it was before, 97.2, it was extruding perfectly. The upgrade all metal extruder almost seemed to be too stiff, I was worried that it would chew the filament because of how tight it seemed. Leveled the bed again, ran the test prints to ensure the leveling was on point. The filament is running so constantly, I haven’t had and issues with what I was before. So printed a Pokémon, fidget spinner, and a few other things. All came out perfect. I was getting results I hadn’t gotten before. I know they say that this won’t really improve print quality but I argue that 100 percent. Why wouldn’t creality include this off the factory floor? It’s such a blessing to have my worries about prints failing lessened. My prints have such a smooth finish it’s amazing this is still the same printer. I’m not getting those whispy filament pieces from travel, I’m able to increase the printing speed, and I’m not running the temps as hot as I was before. Yes I’m sure you need to make sure your slicer settings are tuned in. The thing is, my slicer settings were tuned when I was running the old extruder. My setting were tuned to make up for the unknown issues of the plastic extruder. So in short, GET THIS, get it as soon as possible, this should one of the first things to upgrade.

Great drop in if you have an Ender 3 Pro with a pressed-in hobbed bolt
So, I saw the writing on the wall for my old plastic extruder; no cracks in the body of it, but the odd tube holder attachments just snapped the other day (I tended to place my thumb on them when changing filament). I did a little research, since I knew I had an Ender 3 Pro with a pressed in hobbed bolt on my extruder motor (from what I've seen, this only accounts for a couple years of production for the model, so check for yourselves if you have them). And since I really didn't want to replace my stepper motor, I thought this upgrade should work with what I had, better than most other non OEM setups. I was correct with my assumption. Assembly wasn't bad, took me about 20 minutes following the exploded diagram sent with the package. I really can't say it's printing that much better than the stock item, but I can see a difference in ease of loading filament for sure. With all that said, I thought it was a great inexpensive add-on to my printer. I got the added capricorn tubing and springs as spares, since I already had them on my setup. (worthwhile backup items)

Great kit
Best part is the springs. They keep the bed level for a long time. Simple to install as well. The metal filament insertion part is a bit more involved to install. Still simple just a bit more time consuming. The bowden tube is the most difficult part because you have to make sure it’s installed right. Otherwise you end up clogging your nozzle like me. If you notice your prints not printer after installing this reinstall where the tube enters the extruder.

Had a cracked extruder which resulted in bad prints.. this product solved that problem.
The ptfe tube is original from Capricorn PTFE. Excellent quality. Was worth the price

Très bon produit
Très bon produit. Ne pas trop tendre le ressort de l'extrudeur par contre, car après la roulette déforme le filament et il passe moins bien dans le tuyau ptfe. Pour les ressort que du bonheur.

Definitely a worthy upgrade!!!
I bought this because my stock extruder broke and wasn’t pulling enough filament in. The installation was very simple. I had an issue with my motor since it’s the older version, and had to cut the little gear off. The shaft was also shorter but instead of buying a new shaft, you can just put the new gear upside down. It works great! Also, if you have the older motor, you will have to grind down a flat surface for the set screws to sit in. The tube was a very easy install. The springs are way stiffer than the stock ones. They are also flat on the ends and have the bed sit on them perfectly even. Overall, this is a MUST BUY. Even if your extruder isn’t broken, get this one because it preforms so much better!
