Very handy item to view old 35mm slide collections and eliminate all but the very best. Easy to operate on batteries or using charging cord. Magnification helps and is very easy to use.

It is a great slide viewer that will also view negatives. I like that it doesn't use batteries but instead, it comes with a USB cable. don't let the budget price fool you, it's well-designed and easy to operate. I would buy it again

This is a great little tool for viewing slides. It DOES NOT magnify the slide so you are not able to make out certain details. It does do what it claims which is view slides. The slot design is a little funky, nearly losing the slide inside the viewer.

Excellent. Perfectly functional for the task

Looks great out of the box. Simple easy until you try to put in s 2x2 slide and it doesn't come close to fitting! I trimmed a couple gott'm to fit but wasn't about to do that for 200 slides. Viewer is bright and as advertised. Had thought an aberration but bought two of these and they were identical. RETURNED-- Thanks guys next time measure twice cut once! :) MB

Great product for viewing slides. My Kodak Carousel broke and I bought this to view my old slides. Much cheaper that buying a new Kodak. It is very easy to use and with it's 4" viewing area, slides come to life. I even converted slides to digital by taking a picture with my iPhone of the viewing area. They came out great. I powered it, not by batteries, but by using the included USB cable and an Amazon plug in connector. Takes up very little room to store it with my slides.

This simple slide viewer is the best I have found of it's type. There are several out there that look like they are exactly the same, but in usage they are not This has a larger screen, clear view and slides drop in easily. Allows you to go through a lot of slides quickly. Others like it that I have tried keep jamming and it can be hard to get the slide back out. This can jam on occasion from the slide being irregular or if you put them in too fast. But even if a slide gets hung up inside, just a light shaking of the viewer will bring it right out. Some are a few dollars cheaper, but I would choose this Porta Slide.

I was able to use the viewer right away once putting in the batteries. I have viewer several hundred old slides in the past week in order to determine if I want to keep them and/or digitize them. Slides getting stuck has not been an issue aside from not quite sliding out on occasion. A very easy fix to simply hold down the button and pull out with fingers. Not a big deal. Or simply turn the viewer upside down. I haven't used it much for viewing negatives. Seems to work fine. The only reason I gave this a 4-star rating is that it gets dusty and there is no real way to get rid of the dust other than blowing into the slide slot. That helps but not totally. I do have no hesitations to recommend this viewer.

Viewing old slides

This slide viewer arrived a bit later than expected, but it was in excellent condition and exactly what I wanted.

Received used item that was missing power cable and cleaning cloth. Viewer had scratches inside as if a slide got stuck and last owner tried to remove it.
