Legible letters and numbers, well made quality wise

i love this letter and number punch set. The symbols are clean and crisp and I have used them many times to stamp aluminum tags for plants and small equipment. The plastic case they come in is very sturdy and strong which is good because this set is overall heavy and made solid to take a good punch.

The set is quite nice. The stamps are heavy and feel made of quality metal.However, I was sent 2 "J"'s instead of a "P" and an ampersand "&" instead of a "9". I am requesting a replacement be sent, but holding on to send this back to see what odd collection of letter/numbers/symbols I get in the replacement.UPDATE - 9/9/2021I received the replacement. It was still missing a "9" and instead had an ampersand "&". Happily though, it did have a "P" so I am not going to request a new replacement since my use case involves letters almost exclusively.

I bought this punch set so I could stamp my VIN numbers onto my stuff because some of the stuff comes with his paper bins

Have a bunch of keys you need to keep sorted out or other metal items, this kit is great and compact for all of your marking needs. I own rentals, a lot of rentals, and marking keys are critical for keeping everything sorted out. Just make sure you have a good surface to strike against and I suggest wearing hearing protection as it makes quite the ping when hitting it with a hammer. The other pro tip is to use a shop sledge hammer vs a household hammer. You want the weight to do the work, not a hard swing that can end up with smashed fingers.

Really well packaged. The container was housed in a box with a thick foam for protection. I like that the letters and numbers are in the one container. Plus the container is segregated into sections......each corner holds 9 stamps, plus the additional heart stamp in the centre. There is also room for additional stamps.There was a oily residue on each stamp.....probably from the minting process. This was easy enough to clean up. A little tricky to clean inside the container, but managed to do this using a cloth and screw driver.The 3mm that I chose do seem small when you're looking at the stamp, so did a test run using a block of wood (see photo). I found that you have to give it a decent punch with the hammer, but not too hard as it leaves a circle around the stamp. (see numbers in the photo). Otherwise, they came up ledgable.Stamps are to be used on stainless steel cards that I've ordered.Overall, at this stage, I'm happy with the product. The real test will be how they look on a stainless steel card.Update (25/05): When using on a stainless steel card (0.5mm thick), be sure to place something hard/solid underneath, like a a piece of metal to ensure the letters/numbers comes up sharp. By using a block of wood underneath, the letters/numbers aren't really ledgible..
