Can I lay it on its side ie. have it wide rather than tall?

We have ours laying down and have no problems with them.

Is the colour in the picture actual colour or are they more brown shade?

What tools do i need to assemble?

Screwdriver. Alan key provider I believe. Bought a while ago so can’t remember I do remember it wasn’t a hard task. I use it for extra she,bing in cupboard sturdy and well made.
