MAudio Torq Connectiv Vinyl CD Pack - 9900-51978-00

The hardware itself is excellent and works really well. The bad news is that the software is prehistoric and is no longer supported. I was hoping I could instead use the freeware Mixxx, but M-Audio never shared the timecode information for the developers to be able to use. You can't even buy the Torq 2.0 software any more. No point having the hardware if you can't buy software that doesn't look like it was written by a 12 year old. You can download Torq 1.0.6 (which amazingly runs on Windows 7) but that's as far as you can get with it.

I really enjoyed this product while it worked. I paid close to $200 for it 13 months ago. Now, it just suddenly stopped working and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to work. I am reading that it has been discontinued and is no longer supported by the new owners of the company. I am -very- upset with myself for not buying the Serato system that costed twice as much, however is still being supported. I think it is just idiocy to not support such a good product that workED so well. I Guess my only option is to uninstall windows 7 (good thing i paid for another operating system that will need replaceing/reinvesting in a matter of months), and go back to windows XP wich is no longer supported, or updated for security.Wow, M-Audio screwed up a good thing.

I just got the Torq software with control vinyl and all i can say is WOW. I was going to get the Rane Serato years ago and never did because of the price and i had all my music on vinyl. I saw a few videos and wanted to be able to use my iTunes music. It works great. hookup was easy and best of all no burning cd's... There are so many features built in, that i haven't even been able to try them all. I am using it with technic 1200's with Stanton groovemasters and a Rane MP2016 mixer. It makes DJing so easy that i think anyone can beatmatch. I dont even use headphones sometimes because you can "see" the music. if you know the music your playing you can just see the beats and time remaining. I even set cue points (up to 4) where the vocal or big bass beats come in and it saves them. the cue points are marked and come up every time you load the song. The BPM also store so picking music is easy to keep up the same tempo's You can make loops... samples... store effects... or even store a whole sequence of effects. I think to get the most out of it you really need a separate Midi controller. Thats my next purchase i think. I would highly recommend this program. I haven't tried any other programs to compare but after Djing 15 years with vinyl and CDJ 1000's and no software... I'm hooked!
