Plugs directly into motherboard on Dell 3655
This PCIe USB card is exactly the same as what Dell sells for my computer but a few dollars cheaper here. I have a Dell Inspiron 3655 desktop. It did not come with the power cord as shown in picture. That’s deceiving. However, my computer is setup for this connecting directly into the motherboard. Luckily I didn’t need the cord but it should have been included as the picture shows. Once installed I used the supplied CD with drivers to complete the job. Works great. My touch screen needs a 3.0 USB port for it to work. Only two 3.0’s I have are on the front of the computer. Looks funny with the USB cord hanging out the front. Now it’s all hidden in the back along with my wireless Dongle for my keyboard and mouse. Nice and tidy. Well worth the money.

Not Compatible with my Windows 10
The product as described was exactly what I needed. Description says Windows 10 compatible. I have a Dell Optiplex 990 running Windows 10 with 8gb memory, a pretty standard system. I installed the card using the downloaded driver from the support website, the drivers on the CD which came with the device, and drivers as selected by windows. None of them worked. I did a uninstall and a reboot before installing each set of drivers. I even did a complete virgin reinstall of windows system just to be should nothing done previously on my system was causing the problem. I understand this can happen with computers. Here is the most disturbing thing. I wrote an email to tech support describing the problem and asked for any suggestions. The reply from tech support was a link to one of these driver update sites which charges $20 to do a scan of your system to updates your drivers. So the driver, with no guarantee it would solve the problem, would cost me more than the original device. It''s going back. Update: Sent item back received refund. Painless. Purchased similar product by StarTech. Installed. Booted Up. Worked.

Good product lousy service
I purchased this card to add a USB 3.0 external hard drive to my Dell Inspirion 537s desktop. I received it promptly and installed the card in the machine with no trouble. However I could not get the downloaded drivers to install. I tried to register on Vision Tek site but never received confirming email. I called Vision Tek technical assistance and was basically blown off, His only advice was "the card must be defective" and I should try it in another machine. I explained I had no other machine to try it in. He then said he could not help me any further. I wrote a less than complimentary email to Vision Tek. In reply they suggested I try to install the driver from the included CD (Duh). My bad. I did not realize their was a CD in the packaging. They also said to send my login information and they would complete setting up my account. They did. After installing the driver the card has worked great. I do not understand why the phone tec would not have mentioned something so basic. Five stars for email support and the card, two for phone support. Average 4 stars.

Not as pictured
Item VisionTek 2 Port USB 3.0 PCIe SFF Internal Card - 900598 Order arrived with a SATA-Molex adapter, rather than the SATA-Molex splitter cable shown in the picture. Could not use it, as I don't have any way to power it in my Dell Precision PC without the splitter cable. Vision Tec US based support did not answer my call, and me wanted to leave a message with a lot of personal information including my email address. Not acceptable. Returned because of inaccurate item description on Amazon.

Works great and easy to install and setup.
Works great and easy to install and setup. I did have to use an extender cable to get to the power connector on the card but not an issue since I usually have a few of this around just for situations like this. Really like the speed improvement when I connect my USB 3.0 backup HDD.

Read the reviews !
I had the same problem as some other people that had trouble with the drivers for this card. I had the card installed in less than ten minutes. Then I went to the VisionTek website and downloaded the drivers for it and tried to install them and they wouldn't install. I tried again and again and they just would not install. So I spent some time checking everything out and making sure I had installed the card right. I checked out the Device Manager and it showed a device it called Other Device. It said it was not using any resources because it had a problem. Well I wasn't for sure what to do then so I started my hunt on the net for an answer. I read twenty five different web pages with solutions that other people had with similar devices. The answers ranged from viruses and malware, to updating the mother board drivers, to none compatible operating systems. One said to go into the Bios and change it to enable something and the reply to that was a person that said no that was wrong you need to disable it. So I called VisionTek and talked to a tech and told him what was going on and everything I had done to get the card to work. He told me it was a power problem. That the card wasn't getting power to it. So I spent another thirty minutes inside the computer switching connections and connectors to make sure it did have power to the card. When I had confirmed that it did have power to it I was about to give up and declare the card defective. Then for some reason I decided to go back to the Amazon web page and look at the reviews to see if they might give me a clue and sure enough there was two reviews telling about having the same problem I was having. One person said the drivers from the VisionTek website wouldn't load so he used the driver CD that came with the card ??? Well I wondered about that because mine didn't come with a driver CD ??? Another person had said the same thing about his not having a driver CD until he looked through the package and found it ??? Ok, the light just came on. I got the package and started to look and sure enough there between the front and back cardboard pieces of the package, where you couldn't see them, there was the CD and a User Manual. Needless to say I threw the CD into the drive on my computer and a minute later my card had drivers installed and was working fine. So if it wasn't for the reviews I probably would have sent the card back and went through a whole bunch of stuff nobody wants to go through returning something in the mail. Thanks to the people that wrote the reviews about this card and the drivers. The reviews was the only place I found the right answer. That's why I say, Read the Reviews !
