Great litter!!
Tl;dr perfect for one cat home. No tracking! Everyone's situation and set up with their cats is a little bit different, but for my house and pet, this litter is perfect! I have one petite cat (6lbs) that lives in my small urban apartment with us. Our cat box is in our dining room in a cabinet designed to hide the box. The box is right in our faces (and noses) so we scoop it pretty much immediately after she goes poop. For our set up, having a low tracking litter was really important. I had previously tried the Tidy Cat breeze system because of a recommendation from a friend who said it didn't track at all, but I hated that fussy set up and the poopy pellets that got smeared and left behind after scooping really grossed me out. I was hesitant to try another pellet litter after that, but the clay i had switched to was getting all over our house. I tried Fresh News begrudgingly, but have been so pleasantly surprised. My biggest barrier to trying this litter was the fear that the pellets would get smushy and soggy after being peed on, but that hasn't been the case at all since we keep the box so clean. I think if you let the cat pee on this litter and then left it for two days, then yes, it would get soggy. But every time I scoop it i also mix the pellets around so that no wetness accumulates in the corners. I really like that this litter is environmently friendly, inexpensive, non tracking, unscented, no dust, and doesn't get stuck in my cats nails or paws. This is perfect for us! I'm really glad I gave it a try.

Cost-effective, no dust, no sticking, great option
I love using FreshNews. It has no odor, it leaves no dust, it is easy to clean since it doesnโt clump and stick to the bottom, and best of all, my cat loves it! I also appreciate that I am using a recycled material than clay litter which is non-recyclable. I also believe this is much more cost-effective option than most litters. Highly recommend!

Great, especially to train a new kitten
This is great litter for people who are phobic about all of that Clay in particle litter getting on their floor even with a cat mat these are larger pellets and we trained a new kitten on these and itโs fabulous. You sweep up a couple pellets off the floor occasionally you do you absolutely must have a scooper to scoop out the solid and also to be sure you scoop out the darker wet expanded spots of pellets that absorbed urine. Otherwise, the urine smell will stay. You have to remove the wet pellets, as well as the poop some of the expensive litters last longer like pee, pee, husk glitter, but this was much cleaner for the floor, and we did not have the stress of constantly sweeping up cat tracking will just use more frequently and love the fact that no one complains about cat litter being tracked anywhere and we donโt have a mat to shake out itโs just that you definitely have to remove the pellets that have soaked with urine after they have absorbed it

Works well but is non-scoopable with any scoops I could find.
How do you scoop this stuff? If you read the literature, something I failed to do, the recommended routine is to change it ALL out maybe once a week. That just doesn't fit us. I'm 80 and my wife is 76 and for us a long handled scoop is all that works since we both have back and joint problems commensurate with our ages. No doubt this is good litter and does what it claims. It's not perfect, but it did work just fine, was odor free and all that. But if you're older and infirm and have the largest litter box available you might want to think twice before buying it.

Great litter
I think Iโve ordered this more than anything else on Amazon so I feel like I need to leave a review. This is hands down the best litter. Most people buy the clay litter which I always did as well and I hated the little pieces that would get tracked around and felt bad my cat was exposed to that dust. He would get little pieces stuck in his toes or under his nails too and I felt like it was hygienic. It would get stuck to the sides of the litter box and just always felt dirty no matter how clean his area was. I switched to this last year with a stainless steel box and a stainless steel scooper. I clean both with pdi wipes with the purple top after every change/use. This combo has felt the most clean and hygienic. I use a spray called pet-pourri on the litter as well. Never have any issues with odor at all. And most people donโt know we have a cat until they see him. I never come home and smell the litter when walking in the door and having a cat Iโm always worried about odors. I scoop as needed through the week then completely change once a week and go thru one bag per month. I will never use another litter and tell people with cats about it at every opportunity.

Not a perfect substitute for Yesterday's News but it does the job
This review is from a long time buyer of Yesterday's new hoping for a substitute now that it is discontinued. First off, the amount you get on amazon is broken. The 4 pound option is actually a 12 pound bag. No idea what's up with that. Buy it on Chewy to avoid the seller markup here on Amazon, as the price has doubled since they announced Yesterday's news was discontinued. Second, while it looks about the same as Yesterday's news (the pellets are bigger but softer), there are some very notable differences. Although it is very absorbent, most of the urine will still just be on the bottom of the box until it evaporates. This will cause a very bad smell. Perhaps using three times as much litter would help with this issue, but the biggest difference between Fresh news and Yesterday's news makes this very wasteful. While Yesterday News will crumble once wet, making it easy to pick out the litter that has been saturated, Fresh News will not. This can be a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It is now actually a 100% dust free litter, but it makes cleaning it much harder without throwing away all the litter in the box, because once dry, there is no way to distinguish the urine-scented pellets from the still-fresh ones. I need to clean the litter box twice as often now to account for the smell, and I'm still cleaning almost all the litter out each time. I can see this getting pretty costly down the line. If you have an open litter box in a ventilated area, maybe not a big issue, but those with enclosed litter boxes in "it goes where it fits" style small apartments, you'll need to clean it often so the ammonia smell doesn't irritate your kitty's eyes. That all said, I do really like that it comes in smaller bag sizes, but the fact that the bag is plastic kind of negates the purpose of buying litter that's more environmentally friendly. Finally, I think it tracks much less than yesterday's news does both due to the lack of crumbling and the size of the pellets. So, all in all, if you don't mind cleaning the litter box often or throwing out all the litter when you do, this product is a perfect substitute.

Eco-Friendly Litter That Truly Works โ Five Stars!
Iโm so impressed with Fresh News Recycled Paper Original Pellet Cat Litter, 12 Pound! This non-clumping recycled paper litter has made a real difference for our catโs litter box routine. The pellets are soft yet absorbent, and they do a great job controlling moisture and reducing odors without any added scents โ a huge plus for both pets and people who prefer unscented options. I love that itโs virtually dust-free and lightweight, so itโs cleaner to pour and easier on our catโs paws compared to traditional clay litters. Tracking around the house is minimal too, which keeps everything tidier. Best of all, this litter feels safer and more environmentally responsible because itโs made from 100% recycled paper. Between the performance and eco-friendliness, itโs definitely earned a five-star rating from me!

Didn't work at all.
Overall, I am severely disappointed with this. I bought it in an attempt to be more eco-friendly. I hate having to use clay litter. I bought it after reading through the reviews. I'd like to say outright that I knew going in some of the challenges I'd have to deal with switching from clumping clay litter to this. It is unscented, so it may smell a little worse than other stuff, and I can see how you'd have to clean it out more regularly. I was prepared for this, but apparently not enough. My biggest concern with this is that the pellets are too large to sift through regular scoopers. I had 2 different ones and neither worked. I'd have to buy a special one and I don't even know where to start looking for something like that without buying them and doing trial-and-error. Secondly, I don't see how it works at all. Maybe my cats don't pee that much or something, or the pellets absorb better than I thought because the poo just dried out not sticking to anything. I've used something similar in the past and I remember the pellets softening or breaking down when absorbing pee. This didn't seem to do that. OR it absorbs better than I anticipated. Either way, I couldn't really scoop anything properly given the scooper I was using so I had to either scoop everything out or just scoop the poo separately and leave everything else. The cats didn't seem too mind it too much, but they were confused by it at first. They also seemed annoyed that it didn't cover as well as the old stuff and seemed to cry about it more than usual. On the plus side, it didn't scatter or leave as much of a mess as regular clay litter. I'd see a stray pellet every once and awhile, but for the most part everything was clean around the box. In the end it was completely ineffective, and I had to literally throw out the entire bag. It was a COMPLETE waste of my money. I couldn't even get use out of the one bag I bought and ended up having to buy a box of the old stuff after a week. Apparently lots of people have a great experience with this, and maybe others will too, but I definitely did not. I am very disappointed in the product and that I am having to resort to something that doesn't decompose like this does, but until I find something that works even remotely well, I'll have to stick with what I have.

Arena pellet de papel de buena calidad
Arena tipo pellet de papel reciclado, no de madera ni de otro material, y sin aroma. Justo lo que buscaba, aunque el precio me parece un poco elevado.

the best cat litter
Dust-free, odor eliminating, doesn't clump, doesn't spread or fly out of the box since each pellet it large and heavier than other types of natural litter. Very easy to scoop and replace, keeps the box very clean. Better than all other types of litter I've tried.
