Emerson CKD2330 AM/FM Clock Radio with CD Player and Remote Control

when i plugged this in the clock came on. but disaperd 2 seconds later and has not come back. DO NOT BUY THIS.

It is fantastic - clock radio and CD player WITH REMOTE - for under $70! Only downer - the clock numbers are small so difficult to see from a distance and they don't show when radio is playing. It is still a gem for the price.

If you need a value CD player/radio, this one is definitely worth it. The sound quality is decent for its size and it's durable (I dropped it once and it works fine). I use it almost every day and I've never had any problems with it. This is a nice sounding, well made CD player/radio at a good price. I would recommend it!

I read the reviews, but bought it anyway. Hope to save someone $49.99. Never got the alarm to work and soon stopped using the CD function because the sound quality was just too annoying. This won't even be relegated to the guest room. Garbage for this product.

I really wanted to love this product. CD player was DOA on arrival, but I fiddled with it for approximately 7 days in desperate hope that it would work. And surprisingly, it did begin to work after about 7 days of repeated attempts to get the CD player to spin with no success. It functioned well for about 4-5 months. After this time period, the CD player was completely defunct. I paid a significant amount of money for this product because I wanted a custom sound to wake me up rather than a buzzer or the radio, and am not interested in using a cell phone as an alarm clock. Unfortunately I'm now back to waking up to the radio. The device has an interesting design, but for some reason the electronics inside that operated the CD player (which was the reason I bought it) just weren't very good. Too bad, I really wanted to love this thing. Also, the LED clock display puts out a lot of blue light, yet is impossible to read in the dark. Don't count on wanting to know what time it is from your bed if you wake up in the middle of the night. Again, cool idea but poorly executed.

There are things I like about this clock radio and things I don't. The radio and CD player both operate well and provide good sound. Not like Bose, but not priced like Bose, either. My complaints are with the remote control and the display. The remote control is good to increase or decrease volume, mute, and to turn on and off. But a remote control that does not allow changes in channel or function is of limited use. And the display is unreadable from my bed. I need to be near the radio and at an angle above the display to be able to read it.

Won't play all the way through a song, will just cut off randomly on every CD I tried. Nifty action doesn't make up for faulty player.
