Very sturdy unit, though to level the cast iron grill I had to bend one of the supports. And there was no instruction on how to use the cast iron grill in the instruction manual. Cast iron grill cooks and cleans beautifully. It is a load of fun to use. It is so much fun to see the food slide out of the little pans. New users need to try the grill a couple of times to get used to how it operates. My second try brought up puffy egg cheese sandwiches while on my first try the eggs were flat. Great for table cooking with family. However, in order to regulate the temperature better I took a black permanent magic marker and put three tick marks on the temperature control dial so I could duplicate temperatures more easily. I would recommend new users do the same as otherwise, you are just in a guessing game as to the temperature. I am considerting buying a second unit to give as a gift to my daughter who has 4 children. What fun they will have "cooking."

I fantasized about buying this grill since seeing one on RHOSLC. When the opportunity finally arose, I jumped on it, and within a week of receiving it, we were having a raclette party in my home. What nobody tells you is how powerful the smell of raclette cheese actually is once you heat it up. In any case, what I love about this grill is how everything needed to make it a magical evening already comes in the box. The only thing you need to do is plug it in and get to work with whichever ingredients you have chosen. The heat is consistent, and it is even across the cast iron plate. Cleanup was a breeze. The construction of the grill was well thought out, but if I have one criticism, I wish that the spatulas which are included in the box were of a different material (something a touch more solid), and were just a bit larger. While the pans for melting your cheese are a great size, the spatulas used to push the cheese off feel a bit small - as if I am using something from a child's play kitchen.

We've used it once so far and had a lot of fun. The Swissmar grill is well made. Easy to use. Heats up quickly. It's something different to do for dinner. I researched food items to cook, sauces to add, the best meltable cheeses, etc. So it's kind of a work in progress to get the Raclette process and preferences down. Looking forward to exploring more meats, vegees and sauces.

As our son gets older, we're working on finding new ways to stay engaged as a family, particularly with things still not "normal" because of the pandemic. We bought this specifically to have picnics in the living room while watching football, and to sit around the table with friends and family. We received on Saturday and immediately opened it to clean it for the game that evening. We had a variety of proteins, vegetables, cheese, and fruits to try out cooking the first time, so we could really get a feel for how the grill worked. It was so much fun and everything tasted great! The cast iron worked really well and cleaning was no different than any of our other cast iron pots. We'll be breaking this out at least once-a-month, and maybe even once-a-week during winter as it really heats up the room you're in too! The only complaint we have about it, which will likely work itself out as we use it more, is understanding where on the temperature dial we should be.

We haven’t tried this yet, but the griddle is very sturdy. This is a very nice addition to our entertaining kitchen.

This Raclette Party Grill is sturdy and offers a variety of options for a nice gathering with family and friends. It is good, though, to use it in a place where the smoke from the grilling can be easily dissipated.

We started a new Christmas Eve tradition this year with this raclette grill! It was our first time using it and it worked perfectly! I chose the cast iron top after reading reviews that the aluminum warps. I think I made the right choice. We will be using this every Christmas Eve and have had several friends basically invite themselves over to try it sometime, which we will also be happy to do. It’s a little pricey but the experience really makes it worthwhile! Especially since I see is getting years of use out of it. Tip: I made some pickled onion slices to go with our meats, breads, veggies, and cheeses, and everyone was amazed what a great flavor they added to everything.

Please read this review as I just purchased this item and have used it twice. I bought the option with the cast iron top. This does not create nearly enough heat to be considered a grill. There is an electric heating element that you simply plug in and put a cooktop on. Additionally, for my version, it is NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to clean. Food sticks soooo bad. I followed all of the guidelines but still it’s impossible to avoid sticking. I was excited that it had ridges to create sear marks. Well, don’t bother - it can’t get hot enough to make sear marks and the ridges just make it even more difficult to try to clean. A considerable amount of your meat and seasoning just get stuck on it. It really is terrible and takes up too much space and too heavy to clean or return. Worst Amazon purchase I’ve ever made if I’m being completely honest. So wish I had taken the much cheaper option of a smaller, lighter indoor grill that is easy to clean and will compress the food so I could make sear marks. I’ll definitely throw this away. $190 mistake

This model has the non stick cast iron skillet as opposed to the stone or aluminum. It does not take long to heat up and hold the heat well. I go the machine a couple of days ago and had a late lunch on the deck (13 deg C outside) and it coped really well. It has 8 cheese holders however I would not serve 8 people sitting at a table with it. Not enough room. You can however have the unit on a counter where people were to serve themselves a snack and it would work very well. Summary... a good product and I am very satisfied.

The cast iron has an enamel coating so it's easy to clean. The grill gets nice and hot if you allow for the recommended 15 minute pre-heat. I'm using it regularly and no complaints. Too bad they don't include the tongs. . .
