I've looked at these before but couldn't see how they work. I thought that this may be just the job as I needed to make a new collector bag for a ride-on mower. It proved to be just the thing! It takes a bit of getting used to and perhaps the video could be a little clearer as it could show that the loop needs to be on the round side of the needle and not on the grooved side. Once I had worked that out, everything was fine. It will make a good and useful addition to my kit.

Good awl, I usually use it for shoe repair work. First Chinese made one I've bought. It does the same job just as well.

Smaller needle broke after 6 passes - appears to be a weakness near the base it is low quality metal not even stainless steel, large size needle keeps falling out of the collet.It will work if you have a small repair to do - don't expect this to be a long lasting hobby tool though.
