Does “Cooling Mode” shut the heating element off completely? And can you run it continuously in cooling mode?

Cooling mode turns off the heating element to cool it down gradually to give it a longer life I would assume. Whether that would actually give it longer life is debatable. I have a fully adjustable temp heat gun from cool air to 1800, from 20 years ago and it’s still going along just fine. This unit is getting more daily use completing vinyl wrap jobs. So for us if we get 4 months out of it I’m good. My only real complaint is the completely useless 4’ cord. That’s the only problem with this unit so far. I replaced the cord with a far more suitable one.

Does this one come with a carrying case?

No carrying case, just a cardboard shipping box. Good heat gun though.

What is the continuous run time before you need to shut it off?

I am not sure, sorry. I've had it set to 500° and ran it constant for 15-20mins non stop. Worked like a charm. It also has a cool off phase before shutting down. Hope this helps
