Wasn’t sure how this would smell and I’m pretty happy with it. I didn't do a side by side comparison, but it is a good match to the original. I think it’s definitely worth it. The scent is pleasant and lasts a long time.

So if you remember the classic green bottle from the 1980s this smells very similar to it...but just slightly different, it's a bit lighter, a bit more modern, crisper and not as heavy. Some might say, kind of like modern times compared to the 80s not as heavy, not as unique or polarizing, not as bold and not as offensive. It is like a politically correct take on the must have 1980s scent. It's smells very similar but doesn't last as long and lacks a certain umph..not as musky, not as heavy and it doesn't stay on clothing as long. That might be good for some as folks won't smell you from three cubes away or around the corner in the college library like they could in the 1980s...it's nice, it's quieter but it isn't the same if you are looking for exactly what you had in 1987. But to me, I'm sorta ok with it. This isn't the 1980s. The old scent was like the junk bond trader in a 3 piece suit, kinda heavy, tipped well, ate a double burger with fries and two martinis with extra olives after a sweaty day in the pit on Wall St. This is the more modern version. Leaner. Cheaper. Quieter. It doesn't have to show off. It's the 23 year old trading altcoin on his phone after making workout videos for his online followers on his way to a date he just met on that cool new app. It's not as over the top, it's not quite a classic, it's the son of a classic or maybe the grandson. I'll take it but I'm still old school and want the original. Two things I really like about this product: (1) it says it is NOT tested on animals - awesome, thank you for being kind and (2) the company is headquartered in Upstate NY!! An absolutely great place to be and live! I support the economy of upstate NY!

If you’ve ever wondered what the 1980s smelled like — besides hairspray, leather jackets, and questionable life choices — this cologne is pretty much it. Classic Match is about as close as you’re going to get to Polo Green without taking out a small loan, and honestly, I’m not mad about it. In a world where every new fragrance smells like a cupcake dating a fruit salad, this stuff is unmistakably, unapologetically masculine. One spray and suddenly I’m chopping wood, fixing carburetors, and contemplating buying a Trans Am. It’s also the cheapest cologne I own… yet somehow the one I wear the most. Why? Because it works. I cannot tell the difference between actual Polo which I have been wearing for years or this. Smells exactly like Polo. Does not last as long as original polo. But alot cheaper option for those of us on a budget!

Not great but not bad for me. Its a good 2nd choice on their polo lines if others are out like black or blue classic match. Its too over the top on the herbal side and just comes off a bit off putting to me. But this is from my scent perspective, others may like it. It does seem to last as well.

There are many 'alternative' versions of classic Polo by RL out there, but they barely get anywhere close to it. Except this one, that is. I've worn the original since the mid 80s, so I know the scent all too well. The price of the original these days is upwards of $60 to $140, so is nice to have a cheaper version for regular use, and save the original for special occasions. Heck, you could pretty much forego spending on the original. The scent is almost identical to the original, and lasts almost as long. I did the test with the original sprayed in the back of one hand, and the CM version on the other. I was surprised to notice how close they smell, and the lasting power of the CM version. I know certain fragrances don't smell the same on everyone (skin texture, pH levels, etc), but as far as I have seen, this one is as close as you are going to get. At less than $12, you can't beat that.

This does NOT smell like Polo. Buyers beware of this knockoff.
