Organize It All 3 Compartment Step-On 45 Liter Recycling Trash Can, Stainless Steel, silver, black

This recycling bin is perfect for our needs. We have it behind our bar...it is not our main recycling center. I would not recommend it if you have a large family or a lot of recycling each week because the bins are on the small side, but it is exactly what I was looking for. I saw several reviews where people said they didn't like that the lids don't open all the way when you step on the pedal, but I don't find that an issue when I'm tossing something, and when I pull the bins out I just open it the rest of the way with my hand. I have not had any problems pulling the bins out, either. I wouldn't use it for garbage, because the bins fit so tightly there isn't really space to secure a bag. The only issue I had at all was remembering which bin was for what, so I added labels.

Besides the steel being very cheep, there was nothing damaged when it arrived. The foot petals work fine, and the lids actually open all the way. Just have to make sure to take out the cardboard at the bottom, or the lids won't open all the way. I got this to use as a way to store different foods for my smaller dogs so people whose intent to get a LARGE garbage/recycling/composting way - should not purchase this product! I got the 45L one and it barely fit, in one container, my small dogs 15# bag of food. Overall, this is what i needed; small and compact, multiple compartments, functional, and not heavy duty.

I'm actually very happy with this product. I got it for two main reasons: 1. My baby constantly dig into open recycle bins so I wanted to find closed ones; 2. I'm tired of using three mismatch trash and recycle bins. So this three compartment bin just fits the bill. I didn't have any problems with it. Some people complained that the footsteps are cheaply made, but I found the quality is just fine and I never have to be afraid that I might break them. When I just got the bin, one of the lid didn't open just like some of the reviews described. The only thing I did to fix that problem was simply removing the cardboard box inside that bin and the lid works perfectly and smoothly. Overall I highly recommend this product. It really makes my kitchen look cleaner and neater. The only warning I have is that the bins are fairly small so you have to empty them on daily basis which is a practice we prefer anyway.

When I received the 12 gallon, three bin item, the box had a very large rip in the front. I opened the container, and saw that there were two very large dents in the front. Looking at the bins inside, one corner of one of the bins was broken off. Also, the bin was a lot smaller than I thought. Upgraded to the larger size (60 liter). That one came in even worse shape. First, there was a small dent in the top middle of the front side, but it was so small, I was OK with over looking it. I pushed down on the right foot peddle, and it wouldn't open. I had to open it with my hands, and when I let it close, it wasn't fitted right but would then open with the peddle. I looked at the right bin, and the handle was bent. I tried to pull out the bin, but the system was actually put together wrong and you couldn't take out the bin. For example, the top black piece should have been put together first, then the operator should have put in the bins so you could remove them. Who ever put it together did this backwards, so you can't take out the bin. I almost had Amazon send me another, but decided not to. I don't want to deal with having to send back a third. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Would have given it 0 stars, but you have to give it at least one. If you still want this, and it comes in a way that isn't what you expect, know that you can return it to Amazon for free. Thank you Amazon.

We recently downsized and I needed something for recycling that I could place on the pantry floor with low height clearance (the distance from the floor to the pantry's first shelf is only about 30"). This trio of recycle bins did the trick. While I can't open the flip lids completely because of the pantry shelf, they open up enough to put papers, cans, bottles, etc inside them. Once a week, we have to slide it out of the pantry to empty the bins into our outdoor recycle barrel. Its separate bins are light and the metal handles make them easy to carry. I would've liked wheels on the bottom (even though they would detract from its low clearance). However, it's light and fairly easy to move. It's good looking--even though it's hidden in the pantry. I got it on sale--I don't know if I would've ponied up the full price--but for what I paid, it's a good recycling solution for us. I like the different colored petals--it makes it easy to keep track of what's in each bin.

Cute and functional, but each bin is just too small for even a small household. Maybe good for 1 person apartment.

Lids open and close easily. The trash cans inside have their own handle which makes it easy to get each individual can in and out. Nice clean look! If you have a lot of recycling this is not for you because it is small. Built well and good value.

I really liked this system at first being in a small apartment where I didn't want to lose cabinet or floor space to trash/recycling. Also considering my trash chute is small this kept me from stuffing my trash bigger than the chute can handle. So it seemed great for the first couple weeks... Then I realized that I didn't want to walk the recycling down every couple days, for trash the size was perfect but for recycling it was WAY too small. - Cans & Bottles - Max it will only hold about a half gallon jug and then a few water/soda bottles/cans, then it is full. - Paper - If you use one for paper, only junk mail and scrap paper will fit, don't think you can use it for cardboard... just not big enough. - Design flaw - The lid is inset and I have a cat who likes to sit on the trash can; and after the first few weeks I was no longer able to open the can because the lid got jammed and had to use a knife to pry it open. Not the trash can's fault but something to be aware of. Second flaw is that the little bins that are in each section are a little troublesome and you have to jostle them to pull them out each time, which just makes for extra time that is not necessary for this chore. Overall, I really wanted to like this trash/recycling system but even with the amount of money I spent on it, it is going to be donated. I bought a nice sturdy simplehuman 30-Liter / 8-Gallon Slim Step Trash Can, Brushed Stainless Steel that the cat can't jam and use bags for recycling. Keep it simple stupid! :-)
