Q: I've installed A3 2400 driver but get 'error occured while scanning' Please help!

that would be because the scanner is old, mustek no longer updates their drivers, and mustek no longer offers support. If you cannot do root commands, write code, get into the meat of your computers operating system and do some real changes then you are not going to be able to use this scanner. This won't work on a mac, period, no matter the year or the OS, and it takes some serious jury rigging to make it work on a windows system. Epson offers a 12 x 18 scanner/printer in the workforce series that stays a little more up to date that retails for around 220 dollars, that'd be your best bet for a home scanner of this size.

Q: does Mustek 2400s work with Maverick? Where to find that driver?

We couldn't get it to work with Lion so I doubt it works with Mavericks. Their tech support is a joke. We ended up buying this Epson All-In-One Wide format Inkjet printer, scanner, fax, and copier. Q: What's the difference between mustek a3 2400s and the scanexpress 2400 pro model?

any time someone asks a question I respond with the same answer, regardless of the question: DO NOT BUY MUSTEK. It is outdated and they don't make drivers for any new operating systems for mac or windows. Unless you are running on a very old system do not buy this scanner it is a horror. Epson makes some large format printers that come with the same size scanner on top that only run about 220 bucks and are much more reliable. I didn't need the printer but it was still cheaper to buy the large format printer/scanner combo than some over priced large format scanner. Do some digging you'll find way better options than mustek.
