The description mentions "self sticking claw." Can this be mounted without the screws? With a strong double stick tape or other self stick product?

Two-way (or double stick) tape will not support the weight of the claw and the ball it’s holding. You must use screws!

Will the three piece set hold three balls or is it three pieces assembled holds one ball?

I was concerned about the term "3-piece" because it could mean 3-pieces but hold one ball. When you buy this product you will see it will give you two options - one to buy 3 complete ball holders and one to buy 1 complete ball holder. That should make it clear if you are getting 3 ball holders or 1 ball holder.

If I hung this outdoors on the post, would it hold securely in wind?

It is only plastic and made for indoors. But it is pretty sturdy on the wall so I think it would be okay on a windy day screwed onto the post.

Can this be mounted in a corner?

Yes, it can. I mounted my holder near a corner. Had I wanted to, I could have mounted it closer.
