Glitter Girls – 14-Inch Fashion Doll – Blue Eyes & Red Hair – Two – Tone Dress & Ice Cream Leggings – Hair Bow & Glitter Sandals – 3+ Years– Charlie

Preface: These dolls are made for ages 3 and up. I purchased this doll for my 5 year old and 2 year old daughters. My 2 year old will only play with doll with my supervision as I teach her more about gentle play and motor skills. 1. Value for money: Great value. We're Puerto Rican and I've been trying to find a doll that has our hair type. I found dolls online that were exactly what I was looking for in hair type, but they were more expensive. For a 5 year old and a 2 year old, I wasn't ready to make that investment without knowing how they would handle a curly haired doll. I found this one and thought she was so beautiful, I decided to give her a try. Inspired from another review of this same doll, I decided to finger curl her hair, which isn't needed since her hair was already soft and beautiful and gives it a cute fro style, but I wanted to make sure her curls didn't get severely tangled during play. It was worth the effort! The hair quality is so nice and her curls came out beautifully. 2. Style: Decent style: the overall appearance of the doll is gorgeous. Her eyes are stunning in a light pinkish brown hue, and her face design is adorable. Her outfit choice is not really my style since I wouldn't dress my daughters in the style, but I do love the colors. The shoes match the accent colors on the tunic perfectly, and the gold glitter bow matches the gold glitter butterfly designs on the leggings. I would have preferred a cute yellow dress with maybe the skirt having a tulle design of the pinks and oranges accents of the tunic, and a matching cropped jacket or cardigan. Any outfit that has pink accents really bring out the dolls eyes. 3. Sturdiness: Very sturdy with no rough play. These dolls are bendy dolls, so the arms, legs, and feet can bend at the joints like a rubber toy. The hair seems to be well rooted after the rigorous brushing I put her through (brushed wet hair from tips to roots). The arms and legs move with ease at their sockets and don't feel like they'll pop out easily. A child would have to play tug of war to really get the limbs out, so I feel good with the 2 year old playing "gently" with her. 4. Overall: Glad I made this purchase. We will see if she stands the test of time with my girls, but I see myself buying more dolls from this line so that my daughters and I can have tea parties with our "besties". Very well made for the price.

And hazel eyes, Astrid the happy camper. Her hat fits but the hair is so silky that it doesn't want to stay on very well. I did manage to get it to perch on her head and is very cute. I got this doll for a very good price, under 20 dollars w/o tax. I have way too many of these dolls, but they are so darn cute I can't help myself; I am addicted! Good quality and a nice weight to them. Astrid has a hard time standing up by herself, I think it has something to do with those boots as all the other doll's I have will stand without assistance, but she seems like she is leaning to the left. No big deal, I love these dolls even with their little imperfections.

“Odessa” is very close to Jana – another Glitter Girls doll that comes with the dog (search Amazon for “Glitter Girls Jana & Cuddles). The skin tone and hair color & length are the same. Odessa’s eyes are a pretty shade of teal blue – they match her teal shirt, but they are definitely not green as described. Jana’s eyes are light blue. Odessa has more of a matte complexion and pale pink lips. Jana has a bit of a shine to her complexion, and more noticeably pink lips. (See pic for comparison, although note that Jana is currently dressed in a different outfit – “Let’s go for a run dog walking outfit.”) Otherwise, Odessa is a nice quality doll on par with other Glitter Girls dolls. Her hair is soft. Her expression is cute (and exactly like Jana’s). Her limbs are moveable, and she does stand on her own. Her outfit is especially cute with the velvet teal top, glittery pink tulle skirt, and pink leggings. Overall Odessa is a nice quality doll, but if I did it again, I would have chosen either Jana or Odessa, not both.

Edit: I've had to take on the task of styling her hair after our 2 year old decided to "make it pretty!" I used a spray bottle of water and kept the hair quite damp as I brushed her entire head out working from the bottom to the scalp. Then I took tiny sections of hair and finger curled them twisting them tightly. I probably could have gone with even smaller sections of hair, but it took enough patience to do this! I let it air dry completely. For now the girls want it left down but when it is pulled up, it is very similar to her original look, just with slightly more distinct curls. I hope this helps someone! I love this Glitter Girl by Battat. Our girls have previously been into Battats line of 18" Our Generation Dolls but are seeing the advantages of these. They are easier to play with. If your child still plays with dolls by themselves then 14" dolls are easier to move around and dress/undress. They are like the perfect cross between a 12" fashion doll and an 18" "girl doll". I love Nelly's hair. I'm a bit at a loss for how to style it, because I don't want to loose the super tight curl. But don't want it to turn to a frizzy knotty mess either. Her clothes are well made. i'm not a fan of her top, but her leggings with the gold butterflies are cute and will pair well with other outfits. She is very flexible and easy to pose.

I purchased this doll for my granddaughter to go with her Wellie Wisher by American Girl doll. We ordered the red hair and freckles doll with the adorable buns but we so disappointed to see that the buns had already started to come out when the box was opened. The manufacturer twisted the hair into buns and then chopped the hair off so that it doesn’t stay in the rubber bands. The quality of the doll, other than the hair, is excellent. She is beautiful. I find this doll to be more flexible and softer than the Wellie Wisher doll.

The baby doll is a delightful toy that brings joy and encourages imaginative play for young children. Made from soft, durable materials, it has a realistic design with features like moveable limbs, a cute face, and sometimes even clothes that can be changed. I own several of these dolls (Amy Lou, Eline, Sarinia, Nelly and Charlie). We have four of the Wellie Wishers too, and these dolls, while not quite the same quality, are still wonderful quality dolls and a steal at $20 or less. I love that they are compatible with the same clothing and accessories. I am very pleasantly surprised that the new Glitter Girls faces are just as beautiful as the photos, their hair is thick, soft and fun to play with, and they are bendable and posable at the elbows and knees like the description claims. These are well worth the price and greatly exceeded my expectations. However, on the first outfit change I had two different Glitter Girl outfits easily tear when a careful adult was changing the clothing. While we love both our Glitter Girls and Wellie Wishers dolls, the Glitter Girl clothes seem to be a hit or miss depending on the outfit you buy. We may stick to Wellie Wisher clothes, but these dolls are just as pretty and enjoyable to play with in my opinion.

Gift for my grand daughter whom was adopted from Africa. She loves her.

These dolls are super nice and fun for a little girls age 3, and up. The outfits are generally speaking quite well-made. They are snug fitting, however, and a too difficult for a small child to be able to change the outfits. However, if you are playing with your little girl, then it is wonderfully interactive, and you can change the clothes together. All in all, I would highly recommend these dolls and the outfits. They’re fairly good value for money. They are also very attractive and pretty good quality.
