Russound D850 8 Channel Amplifier

I purchased this to replace an Episode amp, which was starting to fail. I use it to power my in ceiling speakers run from old Sonos Connects. There are limited products to choose from for this purpose. I choose this one mainly because it has individual speaker volume controls in the rear of the amp, which are beneficial in my setup. I also like that this amp goes into standby after an elapsed time that you can select out of 3 choices. Saves power, as the cabinet the Episode was in was always about 15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, 24/7. The downside with the Russound amp is that the sound quality is not as good as the Episode. It is harsher, less pleasing, which is disappointing.

Great amplifier at a great price!

Could not get it to power up after troubleshooting. No sound equals one star. System worked with everything else except this. Russound kind of stinks.

The media could not be loaded. I bought the Russound at the recommendation of a Crutchfield advisor. I am very happy. Have been using it for 6 mo. A local AV guy installed it. I have a Cambridge DAC to stream and channel all media to and it provides a solid sound. In fact I asked my technician to reduce the gain on all the 4 channels ( I also have 4 subs, and those are self powered). So there it is. The Russound is the heavy lifter of my sound for this room.
