Nice grade book
I have another grade book that I normally use that is good for up to 20 or 25 students. I was teaching a couple of courses that had around 50 students. I looked and looked and this is what i decided on and I like it. The two big plusses are that you can have a lot of students and if you need more than one page of grades, there is a preferred strip that you can tear off and add more sheets to your class.

Binding on outer cover began to fall apart
Gets me through the entire year for attendance and test grades for my 6 total classes on a block system. Have purchased multiple times but the last time it started to fall apart on the seam.

I like how I can open to my first period grades ...
This record book was just what I needed for keeping track of my student grades in a handy hard-copy book. For example, I like how I can open to my first period grades and see the whole marking period on a two-page spread. I do not like my school district's belief that we should use the computer print-outs that only show a couple of weeks at a time. Also, I really like the extra box at the end of each week that I use for a weekly work habits grade. Not all grade books have this feature. There are 6 boxes per week per student which works out well if there is an assignment per day plus a work habits grade. The only drawback to this grade book is that the spiral binding creates a jog in the row when reading grades from the left page to the right page for a single student. So it is easy to lose your place and mistakenly put a grade on the wrong row. However, every two rows there are green tinted rows and white rows and the row number is also listed on the far end of the right page so those features do help keep one on the correct row. Still, diligence is needed to stay on row. I like this grade book and for the price I would highly recommend it.

Well designed gradebook
Since my school district has very unreliable software for keeping digital grades, I decided to put time back in my hands by going old school and purchasing this lovely gradebook. The burgundy color is professional and looks nice on my desk during the day or to carry to parent conferences and IEP meetings. The cover is also tough, and the gradebook is slim enough to carry around to students' desks when checking journals or keeping track of participation in class activities. The inside of the gradebook is green with enough space to keep 10 weeks worth of grades for 40 weeks. There is also space to keep running averages. I only have to enter students' names once, as there is a perforated edge. Just make sure you leave enough pages behind each class so you have enough for each class for each grading period. I really like the section at the front of the gradebook for data on the run, and there's a section for seating charts. Each page has room for 50 students. I like to use a fine tip pen, and this works well. I imagine if someone wrote larger than I, then the size of the boxes could be a issue, but the boxes are large enough for a mechanical pencil, well sharpened pencil, or fine tip pen. This gradebook has really simplified things and is well worth the price. I highly recommend.

Looks Good
After reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I couldn't decide between the King Record and R1010 9 or 10 week record book, so I purchased both. I liked the look of R1010 better, but without the dimensions listed and all the talk of tiny squares I wasn't sure. Now that they've arrived, I still prefer the look of the R1010.The item looks exactly as pictured. The R1010 has a single wrap-around cover, so there's no chance for it to separate. The boxes are 3/16" x 3/16". That 1/16 is significant. The assignment boxes are 13/16 x 3/16. The Students boxes are a little over 1.5 x 3/16. The Month/Dates section has individual boxes 2/16 x 3/16. There are perforations on the Students column. If you use letter grades or any other single-digit grade/ coding system and you don't have any fine motor skill issues this one could work for you. It you write big, this probably isn't the book for you. It might work if you use 2 boxes per student and write sideways, but you'd really be better off with the King Record.I'll have to see how they hold up, but as of right now I think, at a minimum, I've found my preferred record book company.

Good grade book
My school forgot to order me a class grade book, so I quickly ordered this one from Amazon. I paid extra for one-day service and it was here within 20 hours. I love that it can be used for either a 9 or 10 week grading period, and I love that it can have 50 students on a page (although I only write on every other line to make it easier to keep track) so it accommodates my class of 23 students. I would have given it a 5-star rating if the boxes weren't so small. I assume that they wanted to keep the size down, but I would have preferred the option of a slightly larger book for larger boxes in which to put grades. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.

Flexible organization
I really like the Whaley products but they no longer make what I need, 3 line for 4 quarters. I can adapt this to work since my class numbers are small. I wish the cover was more durable and the overall size was a hair larger. I really like the additional space for the week since it accommodates a weekly assignment I do which may be in addition to a Friday assignment. I also like the summary columns and the additional info pages. All 3 features Whaley does not have.
