Short and sweet. I love this. It has worked flawlessly so far. I got the remote to go with it which in my opinion makes it much easier. I will say that it still works quite well with the phone as the controller. Image quality is great. Keep it in perspective. Your getting an underwater drone for a reasonable price. It’s not 4K but it is very good. It is very responsive and at the high speed setting it can power through some strong currents. Very cool. Ive already been able to track down some big Bass and locate baitfish. For some reason the fish are not intimidated by it. The bass seemed more curious and were probably wondering if they could eat it. The baitfish paid it no mind at all. Thank you for providing the tech to explore at a price that makes it available to anyone. Love it.

After three attempts to dive it ,the battery is not charging at all! The fact that you need to use the phone to control it is not very good! It should have a remote controller! I use it for SAR and I am very disappointed! I am returning it back!

Needs lots of upgrades to work reliably. Tried to exchange but they never got back to me.

First off, I’m a Part107 licensed pilot and have been flying UAV’s for years. Before I fly a new UAV, I need to make sure that all necessary calibrations / firmware updates are done to both the UAV and the controller. The same applies to Dory. This is a wonderful entry level ROV that will allow you to see the world that exists under the surface. I’ve read reviews here and elsewhere complaining about connectivity issues and control problems. Before you dive, do this and get these items:1. DeOxit D5. Spray this on both ends of the tether. This will give a good seal and prevent corrosion.2. Sea & Sea O-Ring grease. Rub this on the O-rings on both ends of the tether to insure a watertight seal.3. A good Lanyard. Yes, if you get the optional controller, it will be top heavy with a phone attached. The lanyard will help balance the weight.These 3 items will insure that you are fully prepared to go diving. Also, use the Japan controller configuration instead of the USA if you’re a drone pilot. The controls are almost identical.Finally, customer support at Chasing is amazing. Get on their website and email them if you have any questions or need parts. Enjoy Dory, I hope this helps.

Got this off Kickstarter back at the beginning and just a quick review to say that it works really well and my daughter just loves it. Not much more to add... it works as described. It also draws a crowd... people want to watch it. Fish are intrigued by it as well.

Product literature claims it works via Android app. There is no Android app for this device in Google Play store. App is available from manufacturer but is flagged by anti-virus/malware software as possibly containing malware.

Very hard to manuver, app crashes all the time. Don't know here all the 5 stars reviews come from. They must be fake!
