AIRTAP T4 White, Register Booster Fan for 100x250mm Register

Used this to cool a PC in a cabinet. Works very well and have no issues. Seems like it’s built to last and the remote gives you total control or you can set it to activate on temperature.

Brilliant fan and great ap to set it up on if you want to rather than setting up on screen of fan unit very well built.

Perfect if you want to boost existing duct vents Worked great to increase heating in my kids bedroom, it used to be cold now it’s fine Using this is Australia so just bought an inbound Adaptor for $5 and it is rated at 240v Would recommend as it’s easy to program

Installed the 4x12 AIRTAP T4 a week ago in a large upstairs bedroom that gets considerably hotter than the rest of the house. It also has low airflow from the two existing registers. Installed the airtap and at 40% speed level the noise was suitable for sleeping. The temperature did cool down a degree or two. For the "test" the door was closed as it would be at night. I've increased the speed to 70% which is too loud for sleeping but, if used to cool the bedroom for a few hours before bed, it now keeps the temp very close to the rest of the house (1-2 degrees warmer). I set the sensor to a temperature (in the duct) to be higher than the room and it continues for some time after the AC shuts off while there is still cool air in the duct. It met our expectations and does cool the room well. No problem with installation. Directions are in very small font and difficult to read. Look them up online,much easier.

It's a great looking fan with a good app and remote control but, it's not silent above fan speed 2 out of 10 settings. Above speed 2 you can clearly hear it in a kitchen without any other sounds and that's not what they said themselves about this product. At fan speed 2 it dosen't move a lot of air. Second, I thought that when you use the thermostat that it would ramp up the speed depending on the needs but it dosen't. You have to choose at what speed you want the fan to operate with and that's it.

Tl;dr - It's kinda pricey but works flawlessly, you get what you pay for. Used for entire heating season. Read below for details: Our home is heated with a central forced air wood/oil combo furnace. One of the bugs of this system is that when we are burning wood (95% of the heating season) the blower cycles are relatively short - maybe 5 or 7 minutes compared to oil where the blower cycle is a solid 15-20 minutes. The trade off is that between blower cycles there is always a gentle convection of air through the vents around the house - it's very cozy, except for the farthest bedroom and den from the furnace. It really needs the blower action to get hot air up there. I thought with this unit is that it would trigger during a blower cycle then run for some time after the cycle, basically charging the room with some extra warm air. I purchase this unit for the bedroom and a cheaper version from a hardware store for the den because the cheaper unit would not fill the vent in the bedroom. The cheap unit I bought for the den worked good enough - it is single speed, clicks on and you can hear it blowing like a small fan. It improved the comfort level in that room. A bit noisy but OK. This unit is superb! The far bedroom is perfectly warm and because you can play around with the fan speed you can optimize it so that there is virtually no noise. The lower fan speed setting extended the effective run time for that room from 5 minutes up to easily 10 or more, problem solved. Two of the kids sleep in that room and neither of the notice the noise. The unit was unplugged for a few days this winter when one of the kids unplugged it to charge a tablet. The room was noticeably damp and cooler. All said, this thing cost be about twice what the cheap unit did, but it does work twice as well. Previously we had an electric heater in this room, so I'm sure the payback is only a couple of heating seasons.
