I was looking for something to cover my pine dining table to avoid making marks on the soft wood when crafting. This mat works perfectly! Thick material

I recently used my Crafty World mat with a rotary cutter. There are no scratches, cuts, or any indication that I used the mat. Unlike the expensive Olfa mat I purchased in the fall of 2017, used my rotary cutter on it and it is full of cuts even though it claimed to be self-healing. When searching for a new mat, I spoke to the sales ladies at my favorite fabric store and they recommended contacting Olfa regarding the mat. Followed up with Olfa and the representative I spoke with recommended rotating the mat or flipping it over! Really? I guess I could not have figured that out for myself! Needless to say I told the Olfa rep that I will turn the mat over and throw it away, letting anyone who is looking for a mat for a rotary cutter to look to Crafty World Self-Healing mat because this product is truly self healing. As much money as I spent, the very least Olfa could have done would be to replace the mat or my money—negative on both...Olfa who? Great product Crafty World. I will continue telling my quilting and rotary cutter friends about your mat! Thanks to Amazon for having another quality product.

After airing the product out and following instructions to clean the mat it's working great and the smell has faded. I appreciate the seller reaching out to me immediately to share the instructions again to solve my original concern, I would have def needed them if they were thrown out by accident (keeping on file!) :). Very happy and pleased with this mat, the size and the quality. Thank you! My review is based on smell, wow! It's strong! I kept ours in plastic until I can air out or do as it suggests, clean in vinegar from time to time to restore it's newness. I've had these in the past for art classes and have aired them out just fine. Hope I can air this one out just the same because the smell is awful. Large mat, we're excited to put it to use. No complaints otherwise, quick delivery and came with instructions on how to care for it.

The bad reviews are misleading. I waited a while after I got it to give it a review. This thing is a great deal. It heals well, doesn't stink (as some have claimed) and as a retired graphic artist that has used cutting mats for years, this is a great product.

This is a good quality mat. I love the size of this mat, the markings that extend outside declared measurements, and that it is double sided. It did have a strong vinyl odor when it arrived, but that dissipated fairly quickly. It lies flat and the measurements are accurate. I bought this mat to cut fabric, and for that I have to say I've used other cutting mats over the years that worked better. The surface is a little too slippery. It doesn't "grip" the fabric like a dedicated fabric cutting mat does, so you have to be careful about how you move your cutting guide because your fabric may not stay in place. However, as long as my rotary blades are sharp and I'm careful with my rulers, it's okay.

I've had the same 8x11 self-healing mat since 2000.. it has served me well, but it's starting to get that used issue.. too many cuts, it's been painted on, the lines are fading.. so I found this mat in and it's a perfect upgrade to my first.. I haven't used it for cutting on yet.. I make a lot of miniatures so I need to scale and measure a LOT of things and this mat works well for that. I like the angle markings too.. and it has that "new mat" scent that I enjoy quite a bit :) I do highly recommend this mat, it's perfect for what I use them for (and I will not paint on this one. Washing the other one the way I did took its toll on the markings.) May need to invest in a second, larger one next time.. 12x18 is great for covering the large area where I work on my desk but I'm thinking a larger one would be great for the other side for bigger land coverage and workspace

this is very large, awesome for quilting or sew products. only problem was, I had to leave onto of car in the sun, then it completely flatten out. NOW IT'S PERFECT.

Excellent quality, well priced. Clear, precise markings on both sides. Having the extra-large size allows me to lay out every project accurately, with excellent results when cutting with a roller cutter.
