Looks EXACTLY like the picture! Love it! This is going to freak some people out!! LOL

I bought this after rabbits built a den in a large flower pot on my front porch. I was looking for a way to scare small animals from coming onto the porch. This has sat outside in all temperatures for well over a year. Periodically, I coat it with mineral oil to keep it looking realistic. Still scares rabbits, chipmunks,delivery people, my lawn sprinkler guy, but not the coyotes. Coyotes stand right over him! I named him, "Snakefried."

Hi everyone. I was very hesitant about purchasing this Statue because of all the negative reviews it had received. I finally decided to purchase it and if I didn't like it, it could always be returned. Upon receiving it, I was actually very pleased...now keep in mind, Rattlesnakes come in various colors/hues/ patterns so, keep an open mind. The Sculpt itself is incredible, wonderful detail and a natural pose. The coloring is a bit dark but, the pattern was distinctable with various hues and looked very natural. Now, in most of the reviews, people complained about the glossiness of the Snake and I will agree about that but, it is not over powering....it just looks like the Snake is wet. Overall, its a fantastic piece and if you place it out in the sunlight, it looks very realistic. Also, keep in mind that these are hand painted and every piece will be slightly different. The rattlesnake sculpture is exquisite. Unfortunately, they ship it in a flimsy box that doesn’t protect the rattle. The first one I received, the styrofoam was broken and the tail was crushed. I’m giving them 5 stars because I requested a replacement and it arrived quickly. The second box looked worse than the first box but the snake was intact. I still have to ship the broken one back, at their expense and with some hassle, but the snake is worth it. Still, I will hesitate to purchase from this seller again.

This really is worth the price. The details on this is unreal. Everybody that has seen it can't get over how well this was made and how realistic it looks. One person even thought this was a Real Stuffed snake. My only concern is the tail of it. The way it sticks up there, I can see that this will break very easy if not careful with it. This is worth way more than the 16 bucks Amazon is asking for it. **UPDATE** I received this in July of 2012, and it is now Feb 2014. This snake has been outside all this time...I live in the South of USA and everything around here bakes in the summer sun. This still looks as good as new. Through all the rain and sun and even cold in the winter, hasn't bothered it a bit. I'm off now to look at other Michael Carr designs. His seem to be worth the price.

Very realistic! detail and size and color you really would think it’s real. Scared more people away than birds. Bought to try and keep birds from coming into my carport to build nest and worked for a while until they one day actually flew up to it to attack and knocked it over. But it is semi heavy enough if birds don’t actually try to attack.

Personally, I think it is very realistic looking at first glance. Scared the daylights out of my spouse. I think a good application for this would be placement by the front door or the path to it if you have a solicitor problem. However, I wouldn't advise it if you're expecting the mailman or UPS person to pass it daily, unless you want to antagonize your delivery drivers (not a good idea). I really bought it to scare off critters, but can't honestly say it has worked for that purpose since I employ a variety of methods to do that. However, the fox that had been frequenting around the back yard has not been seen again since deploying this. If it can scare pets and people, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work just as well on them. Generally, I take it inside every day to preserve it from sun damage, so I can't say how well it will hold up the elements. It is fairly stable since it seems to have a low enough center of gravity and has not tipped over.
