What are the diameters of the tamping surfaces?

2 3/8'' and just short of 2''. Mind that I made these measurements just to answer this question. It was not written anywhere.

Does this fit the mr. coffee bvmcecm260?

I bought this product explicitly FOR the Mr Coffee BVMC-ECM260. If you're making at least 2 shots worth of espresso, the smaller side fits no problem. Any less and this product won't work. But keep in mind, 2 shots (for me) makes one 12-16oz latte or similar espresso drink. The larger side is too large, period. Also keep in mind you DON'T want to muscle the grounds down. A couple pounds of pressure and that's it. Too much pressure will cause a back-up in the machine and you'll end up with a mess.

I accidentally washed the tamper in the dishwasher. it is dull and not shiny now. is it still safe to use? will i be able to make it shiny again?
