So far, I am happy with my Electric Callus Remover by Pediwell
I have used it 3 times. In the past I used a pumas stone, which did a pretty good job, but was a lot of work and did not complete the job. With the PediWell callus remover, I get a towel, turn on the TV and buff away. I rest the top of my foot on the bed so that I can easily see to buff all the bottom of my foot. I wear sandals mostly year around and I am very hard on my feet and have very bad calluses if I don't stay on top of them, which I have NOT in the past, but I do not mine doing it with the PediWell. It does take longer than I expected to get the job done, but it does it in the end and this last time I soaked my feet in warm soapy water. I dried them and then buffed away. It worked even better and I do put lotion on when I am finished buffing. I think that with each time I use it, my feet are getting better and better. I was afraid that the roller might wear out quickly, but so far I do not notice any wear on it. Pressing hard will pull it down some, but I just lighten up a little. I bought a corded one on purpose, because I figured a battery operated one would probably pull down a lot and maybe even stop and wear down the batteries. Maybe one a little faster, would get the job done quicker, I do not know, but the only faster one I found they said had motor problems. I did not need that, so I stayed with the 30 times a second one. So far, I would buy this one again especially for the reasonable price I paid and still saved a lot even thou I did buy the pack of 2 replacement rollers for down the road. Summertime my feet really take a beating. If you have really BAD, TOUGH, HARD, callused feet you might would need a stronger one, but the real answer I think is continuous use. Going to a salon for continuous pedicures runs into money. I do not usually write a review, but because other peoples reviews helped me, I decided to write one, too. I hope it will help someone.

Major Design FLAW
I used this item one time wile the design of the sander, roller and even the little roller guard and the little bit of 'give' when using is great. The PROBLEM and it is a huge one is a design flaw. ANYTIME an electrical item MUST be plugged in to use, the plug should be integrated into the electrical unit. This unit has a REALLY cheap cord which provides a very poor electrical connection so every time you move the position of your wrist, the sander stops. By the time I finished my 2nd foot (again on first use), I was holding the plug extremely hard into the unit with one hand while trying to maneuver it with the other. So I boxed it up and sent it back. I will be looking for one of these with an INTEGRATED CORD and I will buy it. I have used the ones like this that use 2 double AA batteries but I end up going thru a lot of batteries....

Good, but......
This works well, but slowly. Because of the protective cover over the grinding head, you need to angle the thing "jusssst so" for it to work. And because the grinding head is a medium grit, it removes calluses slowly. It WORKS, and is eventually effective, and the electric motor does ensure it will work for a long time without problems, but I wish there were coarse grit grinding heads available. I ended up giving this (and all the replacement grinders I bought at the same time) to my daughter and bought another company's callus remover because it has a coarse grit head and exposed end tool (no protective cover limiting the range of motion). This would be a great purchase if you were diabetic, and afraid of possibly over-removing dead skin from feet and causing injury, because of the safety features. But for me, these same safety features were frustrating and slowed down the results.

Not Worth the Money
I guess this product would be better than nothing for someone who is unable to use a manual foot file, but the PediWell Electronic Foot File is just not powerful enough to do the job in a reasonable amount of time. I don't even have a particularly thick buildup of dry skin on my feet, but removing it with the PediWell would have taken probably 15 minutes per foot! I gave up after about 5 minutes and used my manual foot file, which finished the job in about a minute. Unfortunately, I waited too long after buying the PediWell to try it out and the return window had closed!

Was surprised how small it is and it's not very strong but I wanted one that plugged in so I wouldn't have to worry about batteries and charging it. It took forever to get my feet fairly smooth.

I was looking for an electric foot file that was more powerful than a battery operated one. The Pedicure Foot File works really well. It does a great job smoothing my feet and keeping them smooth for days. I'm very happy with this purchase. Update 7/31/15 - after using the PediWell foot file, I still think it's a well designed product, but I think the rollers are not coarse enough. My feet aren't that rough, and if the rollers had a coarser surface it would take less time and it would do a better to smooth my feet.

Mine worked for about 1 foot, then the roller wouldn't spin when I put any pressure on it. I would buy a different one.

You wont be disappointed
At first it appear slightly under powered, but it certainly appears up to the job. It was like a Midwestern blizzard coming off my heavily callused feet. It left my feet smooth and almost sore, okay I might have removed a little more than I should have, on my first time. After a couple of days... my feet are still smooth and feeling good. Glad I made the purchase and don't have to worry about replacing batteries.
