How do you wire this for up-down control?

The joystick switch is wiring-free.

By switching the polarity will this make this item normally closed?

I'm not sure. I use the switch on an electric fishing reel. Forward or backwards activates my reel. The circuit is closed in the center position.

Would these switches work for a 12v DC system? Specifically looking to control up/down functions of a winch.

Solid product, but no instructions

The switch itself looks nice and well build, however, there are no instructions on how to wire it. Basically, I have w options, try to guess where the wires go and risk shorting out my project, or just buy another one from somewhere else that includes basic instructions.
