These are functionally superior to expensive name-brand stoma bags...
This review valid as of 27 Feb 26. I recently underwent reversible ileostomy surgery and upon release from hospital, was given a small supply of sample Hollister and Convatec capture bags. Long story short, I was running in critically short supply of these (because of 2 'blowouts', oh, God) and -- frankly -- beginning to get seriously desperate, trying to figure out where to get some locally and how to get my Medicare Advantage provider to share the cost. Frantic, I turned to Amazon (thank you, God) and found these at c. $25 for 20 units, shipped as four 5-unit pkgs in an unopened box. I waited until it was time to change out my next-to-last Hollister and took the plunge. Visually, I saw no sketchy workmanship or obvious variations in materials/design. The important part, for me, the seal quality and coverage area was noticeably smaller than the Hollister. This concerned me, but I was against the wall at this point. In use, the smaller size proved advantageous! Smaller size means less need to ensure a secure fitment over loose, sagging skin (lost 80+ lbs over course of 1 year due to rectal cancer and various treatments, except in the abdominal area). Due to experience with previous bags, I had learned to shower with soap/shampoo *with the old bag on*, rinse body thoroughly, *then remove old bag* and cleanse stoma and adhesive ring area with plain water *only*, using a soft shower 'puff', gently getting into all the creases and folds of the stoma and removing any traces of the previous bag's seal and adhesive ring. This can get tricky -- due to fresh, unpredictable, unstoppable discharge from the stoma -- so I make sure to do it in the shower. Having pre-cut the bag's ring (the stoma normally shrinks, btw, so allow for that and check ring size if you start getting leakage!), I quickly completely pat-dry the entire coverage area, remove ring backing and gently place over stoma, leaving the *adhesive covers on the bag* for the while. Once the ring is completely over the stoma, I carefully remove one adhesive cover and place it one small section at a time, ensuring no folds in the material or 'wrinkle/sag capture' have occurred before applying full pressure to fully engage the adhesive on the skin. Repeat with other side... I finish by visually inspecting the entire ring/adhesive material with a handheld bathroom mirror, using the magnified side. I check the seal by half-filling the bag through the drainage port with *lukewarm* water, sealing that Velcro closure port and *gently* sloshing against the entire interior wall. If water escapes even a little, it will discolor the mesh backing, repairs/replacement will be necessary. The alternative is bio waste spillage. You have been warned! CONCLUSIONS/'SKIP AHEAD': Following the above protocols, I have had *zero* malfunctions with these Amazon-bought bags, through 2 full replacement procedures. Thus far, I am getting at least 3 days of wear with 4 or 5 discharges per day, flushing the bag with *lukewarm* water, as described above. They remove easily for me. Slightly smaller capacity doesn't effect 1/3 to 1/2-full as intended functionality and eliminates binding against undergarments and outerwear. I anticipate this 20-item box will last approximately 2 months and see me through to reversal surgery. If not, I'll gladly cough up another $25 and donate leftovers to hospital/veterans' org/community shelter, etc. Thanks for reading.

Only bag you need, only listen to this review. Best of the best product
I’ve tried over 5 different bags and this is the best one, I’ll tell you why. Adhesive doesn’t leave grim on your skin, but holds well, even on day 6. V shape taper before exit tube, allows for easier cleaning. In fact the plastic they used is slick, as in fecal matter doesn’t stick to it and usually slides out. There discrete cover front and back, unlike the Hollister. It cleans easier than Hollister as well. Hollister might have a slightly thicker bag material. Hollister has the best locking and closing system. So if there’s a negative of this unit, the Velcro is it. But I simply use a small binder clip, and fold it 1-2 times more. I also use electrical tape on the binder clip, so it won’t damage the bag. I’d say the Hollister hold more material, but none of us want to be near 50% full anyway, that’s the beauty of the easier cleaning. That said, I’d recommend a stool softener, if your doctor agrees. If I was on a dessert island, and I had only one type of bag to choose from, this would be my go to bag. I’ve physically tried and used different ones. Further, I’ve never once caught a whiff of smell with this bag. Do not pop the bag to use the carbon filter, leave it sealed. If you need to let air out, it takes 6 second to open the end to release the pressure/gas. I hope your condition isn’t permanent, but as we must use a bag, might as well try to find one that makes us more secure and comfortable.

For my money, better one-piece bag than Convatec and Hollister
Better adhesion than Convatec or Hollister, yet reasonably easy to remove without skin irritation. Velcro-like closure is fully secure, but it takes more pressure to close it than you might expect. The inside of the bag must be lined with teflon or something, as stool doesn't seem to adhere ... which is a huge improvement over the Convatecs and Hollisters I've used. Lasts 3+ days worry-free. The only drawback: While it comes with a filter, you have to put a pinhole in it for the gas to escape. Haven't quite figured that out yet. Overall, it works significantly better for me than Convatec or Hollister. And much less expensive.

NO COMPRAR DON'T BUY IT
It's the WORST bag ever made. It falls off without even receiving the first burst of material. It lasts barely 3 hours before it starts to peel off on its own. It's a product that will make you feel miserable as a human being. Imagine going out to a job interview or a date, confident that you're wearing your colostomy bag and that it will do its job, only to have it fall off in the middle of the appointment or interview just a few hours after leaving the house. If I were in the US, I would sue for allowing such garbage to be sold. These bags are a scam!

You get what you pay for
I tried these bags while I was in between insurances, and didn't want to pay out of pocket for my regular brand. These bags are inexpensive, and I am sure that they work great for some folks. Unfortunately, I am not one of those that it worked great for. I usually change my Hollister setup once every 7-9 days. These bags I changed three times in one week. My skin was not very happy. It wasn't happy with the bag adhesive and it wasn't happy with the frequent changes. I must say though, that my skin is not happy with most products, and is definitely not happy with frequent changes. The reason for the frequent changes was that the bag didn't hold up. I use a wafer and paste underneath and for some reason they just dissolved under this bag. Two bags blew out the side and the third the Velcro gave out (although that wasn't the worst problem. I was able to use a bobby pin to hold it together). When I went to change that bag, it was obvious that it was also about to go. I started questioning myself, wondering what I was doing wrong. I have had my stoma for three years now, and have had very few mishaps since. I put on when it my emergency Hollisters, and I haven't had any issues (other than my skin itching from healing). So now I'm just waiting for my shipment from edgepark. If you are used to frequent bag changes, this may be the right choice for you. Every body is different, and mine is just super picky. It's a bummer though since these are so much cheaper and the bags themselves are soft and thick (although the way it empties caught me off guard the first time, so beware of that).

Just the job!
Bought these bags to tide me over until my regular bags came through from my prescription. Overall I found them to be quite good. They are see-through but that didn't bother me. Velcro closure was pretty secure and I had no accidents of leakage. They do stick pretty well and I found I had to actually get adhesive remover to get the bag of which I don't have to do with my regular bag. (salts). All in all a decent bag and I have now purchased them a few times. Delivery has also been good and no issues. Will definitely continue to use it if needs be. Would be 5 star if they were a wee bit quieter as the material is a bit rustly but not too bad.
