It is defective.
This how my lamp arrived -- with a 2 foot cord coming out of the base with a socket on the end of it. See picture. Any ideas what I am supposed to do with this cord. I can not push it back into the base. There isn't ANY customer support from the company and/or from Amazon.

A small change and it’s a winner!
Beautiful lamp, good weight, glossy navy blue, no assembly shade, just one thing I had to change was the gold tone. It is very yellow gold, makes the lamp look cheap. I sprayed paint it with a darker gold (see photos). It was hard to find this size of a lamp, so it was worth it to me investing $10 more for the paint. Now it looks expensive and I love it.

It is a nice lamp, the shade is white! I would prefer if it is an off white shade! The white shade makes it too bright and has a usb!
