FORTIVO Leather Recoloring Balm, Color Restorer, Scratch Remover, Couch Paint and Repair, Leather Balm for Couches

This product is amazing! Our old couch was very faded and was almost thrown away due to its poor condition. However, I thought I would give this balm a try and it made the couch look like new!!! It went on very easy with the sponge applicators and with only 2 coats the reclining leather couch had new life left in it! I already bought a new couch to replace this one, but I could have saved $3,000+ if I had only tried this first! If your leather furniture is faded and it's high qulaity leather, this will take care of the problem and you can save thousands of dollars!!!

Purchased the Dark Brown recoloring balm for a very dry, sun bleached, worn out leather couch I picked up for $150, figured it was cheap enough to experiment on and this product looked promising. Because the couch was in such rough shape I wasn’t sure what the results would be but this stuff is incredible. Easy to apply, helped recondition the leather while it recolored it and with a little work I was able to take this top grain leather couch from ready for the dump to being the star of my living room. I finished it with the Fortivo transparent conditioner (mink oil) and it looks nearly brand new. I used 2 jars of the recoloring balm for this entire sectional. Pictures included of before, after and during.

This stuff is amazing. Trying it was an inexpensive alternative to replacing our six-year-old dark gray Natuzzi leather sofa, lovingly scratched and licked by our dog who loves to groom herself while including any surface area around her paws. So the dk gray seat cushions had light gray splotches all over and deep gouges from her nails. I did sand the deep scratches with a very fine grain emoty board to even out the surface. I dabbed in the dark gray balm, and then generously with circular motion applied over the whole splotched area. Dry three hours later. I conditioned it with Leather Honey conditioner. Can’t even see the scratches anymore, and the rest of the cushion looks uniform and beautiful, almost like new.

I posted before & after pictures to show the worn areas on my chairs although I am not completely finished. I only applied 1 coat on the problem areas and may decide to do the whole chair. Or I may only apply a 2nd coat to the problem areas and blend it in. I also need to apply the recommended conditioner. The arms were especially bad. The chairs are a grey/brown color so I mixed the dark brown & light grey together. I really would rather have used the dark grey but unfortunately it’s out of stock. It was worth a try and the chairs look sooo much better and am glad I tried it! The color is more brown than I wanted but it works fine and it’s much better & cheaper than having to buy new chairs. I mixed the colors with a popsicle stick to the approximate color I wanted and applied it on one chair. I am pretty happy with it so far, it looks like a new chair even though it’s not the exact color I wanted. Side note: I let the chair dry for several days & just tested it to see if the color rubs off. It did come off the arm only, with a dry cloth when I rubbed it firmly, but it DIDN’T come off the rest of the cushion, etc. My guess is that the arm was more worn so I will just reapply another coat & I think that will do the trick. Also, I am hoping the conditioner will seal it in. I’ll update my review after I apply conditioner. The actual process is easy. There is no bad scent and it goes on nicely. I used the brush they supplied on the seams & welting & a cotton cloth on the rest only bc I forgot there was a sponge pad suppled. I will use the sponge to finish the rest of the chairs. Overall I really like the way the product works and the way it looks after initial application. I am hopeful the conditioner will seal in the color on the arms and I’m NOT concerned about any transfer problems from the cushions. I highly recommend this product & will use it again. My negative is that they are out of stock on the “dark gray” color. However, I just remembered they have black. Maybe I could use that to get the dark grey color by mixing it with the light grey, but that means I would have to buy 3 jars of the product instead of 2 to get the color a want to achieve. I may just go ahead and order the black. I may still be interested in the dark grey-let me know if it becomes available.

We are VERY impressed with this product! This was just one coat and only used about 1/5 of the container for both pieces. Very easy to apply, but plan on using your own gloves to protect your hands. The plastic ones that came with it are a joke. I rubbed a microfiber cloth over them shortly after application and no color transferred to the cloth. Highly recommend!

This product really put some life back into our furniture. Our couch and two recliners had areas that looked almost orange in all the high contact areas. Not like peeling paint, mostly some discoloration. After using this the chair looked much better. One container did one recliner with just a little left over, I did not coat the entire chair just the areas you sit in and the arms, not the back or sides. Let it dry overnight, it does not rub off at all, I wish it was slightly darker but that had nothing to do with quality of the product. After drying, some areas felt slightly abrasive, like a roughness to them. I found that by rubbing my hands over those areas fairly roughly seemed to work that out. I am posting pics of chairs and couch but I did use a different, slightly cheaper product on the couch and other chair. I definitely liked the finish of this product better! The other one seemed to be a thinner paste, I don’t think it went as far, and some areas looked shiny after done. This product did not do that at all, no shiny spots. For that reason alone I wish I had just ordered more of this product, it was onlyn5$ more per container, the other container even held more but like I said seem to cover less. Long term I’m not sure how either one will last. The other product seems more abrasive after drying as well, took more work to smooth out. Overall, highly recommend, my wife thought it would be rubbing off on our clothes, did not happen. Maybe if it was put on couches with a painted on finish that could happen. You could give multiple coats as well. Our furniture was like a micro fiber fake leather, had a very soft feel, so I thought I made a huge mistake when I first felt roughness, but it’s all good now. Reminder about 1 1/2 seats per container, order extra because it suckes to finish. I started with one can, then realizing I needed 3 more tried to save money, don’t do that, buy this one!

Why did I put up with these ugly head spots for years?! In two minutes they were GONE! Sofa looks new! The effect is actually better than in the attached photos—you just would never know these spots were ever there. Smeared and dabbed a bit with the included sponge and that was it. Ended up smearing a bit over the more of the stitching to match because it was lighter color than the sofa. Dried fast, not sticky, no complaints. (Used Dark Brown)

I rarely ever leave reviews just because I’m extremely busy, however, I live in LA and if people get evicted or they move out, they put their furniture outside on the streets. I have had a side business going for years, if I see a great piece that has potential I take it. I bring it home. I refinish it. I paint it and then I sell it for 3, 4 $500. So recently I moved to a smaller space in a better area and across the street I saw these four leather chairs it was nighttime. I didn’t get a great look at the quality, but I knew when I saw the back of them they were something special so I brought them inside and luckily for being 1980s circa they’re in excellent shape however there was definitely wear and tear on the leather from sitting on it, there were some paint splatters, light scratches on them. I cleaned them up and I bought this cream.THE BEST PRODUCT OF THE YEAR!! I am so mad that I did not post before and after photos they look brand spanking new after one application. I was lucky because there were surface scratches but no big gashes luckily for me, but they were filthy, and this product has made them look like show stopping showroom quality, absolutely beautiful brand new!!! Again, but I will see I’ve only applied one coat so far. I don’t even know if I want or need to apply a second coat and I’ve only used a quarter of what was in the tub a little goes a long way you want to do it in thin layers and buff it out. Let it dry and then give it a second coat which I’m gonna do but it’s really not even needed. I haven’t 100% decided but I will say this product is absolutely insane. I love it. I advocate for any product that is amazing. I am just a “share with everybody in the world” because we all wanna know the tricks. I would buy this product again and again and again and again. Incredible!!! I always hesitate. I read the reviews, but you never know until you use a product like I said I rarely ever leave reviews but this just absolutely exceeded my expectations. I will certainly purchase this product again if I need it at the container I have for For Chairs! was more than enough. I did order the two just in case I didn’t know how big or small but a little bit really does go a long way. I think you could do an entire couch with one, but it’s good to have two to be on the safe side. Just fantastic.

This product is like runny petroleum jelly without a hint of colour and does nothing to enhance the colour of my black sofa. I opened both pots just to make sure and apart from one having its label upside down, they were identical. Very disappointing.
