Just want to clarify as it doesn't have anything in the description. The title says 2 large. Does this mean I'm paying for two of this product?

No it is a bit deceiving how they have it worded in the title! You get one "pod" as you see it, but the one unit is comprised of 2 pieces you put together that could be used separately if you wanted to as 2 "hammocks " if you hung them or 2 hidey houses on the floor.

can this fit a chinchilla

My chinchilla loves this pod I had to buy a second once he chewed up the first one, what I did was I hung it from the top of the cage where he could get it and just removed the small inner peace or the pod part and he loves it holds him fine and he snuggles in it

Would a syrian hamster who is on the bigger side fit in this? Or should i get the large?
