I was skeptical because I’ve always believed in another popular brand to get my clothes clean but this product not only cleaned it smells great too. I got the Vetiver scent. I came back on here to see just how “green” I was being by using this product. Very happy with it after using for several months. Will buy again

I’ve tried a lot of laundry detergents, but these Grab Green Lavender + Vanilla pods are easily one of my favorites. The scent is incredible—a soft mix of lavender with a warm vanilla note that smells clean and calming rather than overly perfumed. Even better, the scent actually stays on clothes after washing and drying, which a lot of “natural” detergents struggle with. What really sold me is the ingredient quality. The formula is plant- and mineral-based and powered by enzymes, which helps break down stains while avoiding harsh chemicals like phosphates, chlorine, dyes, or masking agents. The pods are also super convenient—just toss one or two in the washer, depending on the size of your load, and you’re done. They dissolve well and leave clothes feeling fresh and clean without residue. Many users say they like the scent because it’s pleasant but not overpowering, and the pods are easy to use with both standard and HE machines. I use a softener and dryer sheets, both of which are a lavender vanilla. But I wanted something to wash my clothes that also had that lavender vanilla smell. I end up finding this product. I got this product while still having laundry detergent pods. I did this just in case I had allergic reaction or the quality wasn’t as good. I like all pods. This is easy to use. He just throwing in the washer and let it wash. I was surprised about it size it seemed thinner than most of the pots I’ve ever used. I’ve already done seven loads of clothes, and I have found that it doesn’t leave any sticky residue and that it works. I also liked the fact that though I’m using pods because I personally like them the amount I got I would get one of those containers and not a plastic bag I like that I get the plastic bag because of the fact that with the plastic containers, you’re actually using up more plastic than what is necessary. Also, where I keep my plastic container, I can simply just transfer them and still have something to put them in. Honestly, I’ve been willing to pay more for this product, but I love how I get the smell I want and spin maybe just a little bit more and not by much honestly and get the smell. I want. I find that to have a high value. So the fact that it actually does clean my clothes, there’s no stickiness there’s no stains because of the product which has I’ve dealt before with other products. But I get it in the smell I want. I enjoy that. To me that is worth a high value because of the fact, I’m getting what I want and not just what I need.

Long-time user, good mild detergent with a few quirks I’ve been buying this detergent for years at this point. The formula definitely changed about a year ago—it used to be a very light, almost white powder, and now it’s more of an amber/yellow color. For a while the product seemed to bounce back and forth between the two versions, but the newer formula has been consistent over the past year. The scent is still the same style, just noticeably milder. You can smell it right after the wash, but the fragrance doesn’t really linger on the clothes. That’s actually a plus if you prefer a natural, low-scent detergent instead of the heavy “perfume” smell many brands leave behind. The pods themselves are well made. They don’t break open in the bag or during storage, which I appreciate. My only complaint is that occasionally a pod won’t fully dissolve in the wash—I’d estimate this happens maybe 10% of the time, depending on the load. Overall I still like and continue to buy this detergent. It cleans well, smells natural, and is gentle compared to most mainstream options, just with the occasional dissolving issue keeping it from a full five stars.

I've tried many natural laundry types. This one actually cleans the farm clothes and leaves them smelling fresh. We combine it with an oxyclean tab if the load is really stained.

Believe it or not, below is the short version of my debacle with these pods. The TLDR version is just don’t buy them because they don’t seem to be as good as they used to be. Let me start by saying that I was a longtime user of these pods. Loved them. Then I started receiving bags a few months ago that had pods which looked nothing like the pods I’ve known for years. They were always white and filled with product, making them almost round. They also smelled divine (I was a huge fan of the lavender vanilla scent). Suddenly they were flat, yellow, grainy, loose sacks that smelled artificial and just plain gross. I read some reviews here that said they contacted the company and were told they were a bad batch of pods which contained only fragrance and no detergent. After having to return several bags because I kept receiving these “defective” pods I decided to reach out to them myself. Apparently Grove Collaborative bought Grab Green so I contacted them. I explained the situation and asked if they could confirm whether the pods were defective or if they changed their formulation because I kept receiving these different pods. They said I would need to contact Amazon for a refund. I guess that meant that no one read my message because I never even asked them for a refund. So I replied. I asked once again if they could please tell me what the deal was with the pods. Someone else responded and said they would be happy to look into it if I sent them more info on the bags. I sent back photos from three bags I hadn’t returned to Amazon yet. The bags were of different scents and sizes, showing the front of the bag, the back which showed the lot number and expiration date, and the product itself. Yet another person responded to say thanks for the info but to contact Amazon for assistance. Don’t ask me why but I wrote them for a fourth and final time after that. I told them I didn’t understand why I needed to ask them FOUR times to verify the product. All I kept asking was for them to tell me if the pods were defective, counterfeit, anything. Did they just change the formula? Just tell me so I know how to proceed but again, they completely ignored my request and directed me to Amazon. I used to love these pods but I can only assume that Grove must have bought Grab Green and changed the formula. I can’t speak to how well they work because I never used the new pods (they smelled DISGUSTING). Regardless, the fact that they couldn’t give me a straight answer to a simple question is just plain shady. I shouldn’t have to ask something four times and never get an answer back. You either changed the formula and are afraid to admit it or you have defective or counterfeit pods out there and are doing nothing about it. So at best you have crappy customer service but at worst, you’re super shady. Either way, you’ve lost me as a customer. If you’re still reading and you’re curious, I have since switched to Clean People detergent sheets and I’m a fan. I’d consider those instead if I were you. Just don’t buy these. They’re trash.

I ordered this product in the Winter and received the first package with many of the pre-measured packets burst inside the outer packaging. I called and requested a replacement and one was shipped which also had packets that had burst however, not as many as the first shipment so I kept the second package. I have ordered other GrabGreen products with pre-measure packets in Winter and only experienced packet bursting during shipment with the GrabGreen 3-in-1 Laundry detergent. I do not think it is movement during shipping which is causing the packets to burst since the inside package is well contained to reduce such movement. I suspect the product is freezing during shipment and there is moisture in the product to cause the packets to burst during expansion when freezing or frozen. The packet skins are tightly sealed without much wiggle room for expansion if freezing is the issue. I wanted to try this product as I have tried other GrabGreen products and like their pre-measured packets including how well the other products performed. Since I tend to use more laundry detergent when using liquid I found with the packets I use less detergent. The packets fully dissolved for me when placed in the machine and not the dispenser as directed by the manufacturer. My clothes came out clean however, my Winter laundry is typically lightly soiled and I will need to wait until Spring to try this product with heavily soiled clothing. To me clothes which are clean should be absent of dirt, stains and heavy scents. The fragrance free product, which I used, does not add any artificial scent. Clean clothes to me should be odor free and smell like -- nothing. As for oil there is no brand of detergent that gets oil out well so I always pre-treat oil spots with dish soap. Soap products are different than detergents and are designed to breakdown oils and wash them away whereas, bio based stains seem to do best with an oxygen based booster. There really is not an all-in-one product that will work well with heavily soiled laundry unless you pre-treat, and/or adjust the amount of detergent and/or the length of the wash cycle. It can be expected that you will need to adjust how you wash clothes based on the amount of soil, type of soil, water conditions, washer effectiveness, type of clothing, etc. The manufacturer did recommended increasing the number of packets used if washing heavily soiled clothing. Overall, I am finding the packet system already takes up less storage space, lighter and easier to lift, less bulky and easier to handle, pre-measured so no need to measure, dissolves completely without leaving any residue and does not scent my clothes. High efficiency machines use much less water and powders typically require more water to dissolve powdered detergents completely which is why I went to liquid detergents. So far I have not found any powdered detergent clumps on my clothes with this product and when I do my laundry I typically place the pre-measured packet in the washing machine first then load the clothes. The big test of softness for me is how soft are my dark colors. I always hang-dry dark colors, since drying them in the dryer causes major fading, so having them less wrinkled and not cardboard like once dry is a plus! My rating today is based on my overall experience with the product which includes the use, purchase, shipping and return of 1 damaged shipment out of 2 damaged shipments for this product. I will likely purchase this item again.

If you are buying it for the smell, don't bother, the smell is only in the sachet, your clothes won't smell any special after washing, but if you are buying it to SAVE the planet, well well, the planet can be saved by stopping Wars not by buying detergents. Take my word for it, any old detergent with fraction of the price will do and SAVE your money.

I'm so surprised by this detergent. I've been using for awhile now and I luv it. Other review said it leaves clumps, I've had that happen once cause my machine was left on cold. When I use warm like I normally do, it melts immediately while my washer is filling up. I've purposely watched to make sure. I don't want white clumps and stuff on my clothes and alhavent had any. If I had to point out one thing it would be: if you don't like scents and they bother you, don't buy the Veviter like I got. It's very strong smelling. Very strong to me. I cannot use Gain, or anything like that because the smells give me migraines. This hasn't as of yet, but I'm sure if I put in 2 pods I would have that problem. So get the unscented. That's what I'll be trying next. .
