Excellent Insulated French Press for Multiple Cups
My husband and I absolutely love this Secura French Press. The fifty ounce size is perfect for us and easily makes five full cups of coffee or six if you pour them a little lighter. It is great for slow mornings together or when we want more than just a single cup. The stainless steel build feels very high quality and it is extremely well insulated. Our coffee stays hot for about two hours, which is a huge plus. The filter is excellent and so far we have had no issues with grounds slipping through, which has been a problem with other French presses we have owned. The only thing to be aware of is pressure. If you fill it too high and do not turn the arrow to release the pressure before pressing, the coffee and grounds can pop out. As long as you release the pressure properly, it works perfectly and is not an issue at all. Overall we are very happy with this purchase and use it regularly. It looks great, works beautifully, and makes delicious coffee. We would absolutely buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality insulated French press.

Great purchase! Hot coffee!
I have only used French presses for about 12 years and I have had a few in that time. I even had an insulated one that I’ve used for a few years. I got this one yesterday to replace that one as it broke. This is very nice looking. Feels quality. I had my first cup of coffee and it was as expected…hot and delicious. I had my second cup an hour later and steam rose as I poured. The coffee was still a great temperature! This was not the case with my previous insulated french press. I am so thankful I got this one. I know. It’s only my first use, but there’s not much that can happen with a french press. If it does, I’ll amend this review.

The saga of finding the perfect coffee maker . . .
Been using my new coffee makers for a few weeks and I am very pleased with them. Yum, there's nothing like a good cup of coffee. My eight year old Cuisinart automatic drip with thermal carafe was failing so I started researching auto drip coffee makers. My old machine was the Cuisinart that had a built in coffee grinder however I had given up grinding the beans with the machine after a few months of using it because for some reason I'd find the brewed coffee had overflowed all over the counter, cabinets and floor and I'd have a huge mess to clean up. It had something to do with the grinder and didn't happen every time but I dreaded it so when I stopped using the grinder it never overflowed again. While checking the reviews for every auto drip with thermal carafe I could find, that was the first thing I looked for and sure enough many people complained about this happening to them due to some stupid design flaw. It seems most of them had this problem so they were eliminated from consideration. That pretty much left one Zojirushi machine but it's expensive and it had other problems that made me hesitate. So I kept looking. It took weeks and I figured if my Cuisinart stopped working I'd just live with instant because I couldn't make up my mind. It was so frustrating. I looked into presses too but it was so hard to decide due to the problems people pointed out in the reviews. I finally decided against a glass press because somebody said theirs exploded while pressing down on the plunger giving them third degree burns. Even the remotest possibility of this happening to me was enough to say nope. So based on the 1500 ml size and the great reviews I finally decided on this press. Just in case, I also bought a 10 cup Melitta manual drip coffee maker thinking that I might not like something about the press like the cleaning of it or whatever. I love the coffee press! I finally have the recipe and technique down and it makes delicious coffee. I got rid of my old Cuisinart grinder and bought the Cuisinart burr grinder. I set it for the largest grind and dump it on a piece of wax paper. When the water boils I immediately pour it into the empty pot and let it sit there for a minute to heat up the pot. I pour the water back into the electric kettle and test the water temp. Doing that cools the water to about 200 degrees. I pour the ground coffee into the pot, start the timer for five minutes, pour in the water, wait 30 to 45 seconds and stir it. Then finish steeping and plunge. I immediately pour the cups and put the rest of the coffee in a vacuum carafe. It's fast and easy to make. As far as the clean up it's not as daunting as I thought it would be. I don't like to waste water so I heat up some in the microwave. Meanwhile I rinse the plunger mechanism under the faucet to get off as many grounds as possible. I take it apart and put the pieces in a small bowl in the sink. The long plunger/lid piece is rinsed and dried. I dump the grounds out of the pot into the trash and wipe the rest out with a paper towel. I pour the hot water into the bowl and the pot and add dish liquid. After washing I rinse and dry all the components and set the plunger pieces on the windowsill to dry more thoroughly. I haven't timed it but I would say the whole clean up process takes about five or six minutes. As for the Melitta, it makes great coffee too. I set the grinder in the middle between fine and medium. I've found the actual coffee making process to be more time consuming than the press because you have to be standing there pouring the water into the filter and it takes about ten minutes. I tend to get distracted if I walk away to do something else and can forget to come back to pour more water in. On the other hand however, the cleanup is much easier. The cone and lid go in the dishwasher and I simply wash and dry the pot by hand. I like that my hand fits inside to clean it. I also like that the lid comes apart for thorough cleaning. That is something that always bugged me about the Cuisinart, the thought of all that crud building up inside the lid is gross. I even called them once to complain about that. I'm so glad to be rid of it. In conclusion, the press is faster and easier to make coffee but more time consuming to clean up. The Melitta manual drip is more time consuming to make the coffee but a snap to clean up. Also, the Melitta makes a little bit more coffee than the press. Each method is worth the time and effort for the great coffee they produce. Additionally, both units were very inexpensive and they should last for years without any disgusting muck building up inside that's impossible to clean.

The Perfect Plastic-Free Brew!
I was on a mission to eliminate all plastic from my coffee routine. Most French presses I looked at still had plastic lids, frames, or handles that could leach into hot water. Then I found this French press, made entirely of double-walled stainless steel and zero plastic parts. The lid, plunger, frame, handle, and everything are made of pure stainless steel. Finally, a true plastic-free option! The build quality is excellent: sturdy, premium feel, and the double insulation keeps coffee hot for hours. I've poured this into my owala, and it's still warm in the morning. It comes with extra stainless steel screens, which is a nice bonus for longevity. But the real magic? The coffee tastes incredible. Rich, full-bodied, clean flavor with no bitterness. My non-coffee drinker husband is willing to drink some of my coffee now because it's so smooth. This makes a beautiful cup of coffee. The coffee is better than anything I've gotten from plastic or even some glass presses. If you're trying to go plastic-free in your kitchen or just want the best-tasting French press coffee without compromise, this Secura is unbeatable. Highly recommend. Truly 5 stars! ☕✨

Love love love the increased volume of coffee available. Don't like the squeekie scratch sound everytime I push down the plunger
I love having more coffee on hand. 51ozs has changed my life. It's easy to clean and has a nice feel to it. That said, the sound of metal scrapping every time I press the plunger does put my teeth on edge. When I was reading the reviews prior to purchase, I didn't quite understand how setting the top into the main piece would be problematic. Well, you need to line up the access point, the area open for pouring. You have to peek underneath each time to make sure the spaces match up. I solved this issue by placing a bindi on top, near the space where the coffee exits the pot. It's basically a small, jewel-like sticker that my (4 year old) daughter wears on her forehead for decoration sometimes. That way, I don't need to glance under the top to align it appropriately. The plunger doesn't have amazing strength. I worry about it bending, although I haven't had that happen yet. So far, no grounds in the coffee. I get to steep it for as long as I wish because the water really does stay hot for a lot longer than with the traditional glass press I used to have. I like DARK coffee. My mother used to call it Mississippi Mud. With this press, I get the richness that I want without any of the bitterness that can come from over-steeping. I don't like that it only comes with one filter, but it has proven sufficient so far. I will update should anything happen in the next year or so. The previous press was perfect up until the screw that holds the filter system together failed. I could NOT get it back on in a way that would keep the filter items stable. It would wobble and slant, allowing copious amounts of grounds through. So, it's me---once bitten, twice shy---being a bit nervous about the plunger on this item and fearful about how that will play out. Since it's still new to me, I'm constantly amazed at how much it holds---always surprised to find yet another cup of coffee available to me. But, I do know what another poster meant when he said "serve guests first," because there's no way to know how much is actually left in the pot while in use. You'd have to pry it apart, upsetting the grounds, to figure that out.

Makes excellent coffee but drink while fresh as recommended
This is an excellent French press, but I caution you to buy the right size for your coffee consumption. I bought the 50 ounce for one person. By the time I drink the whole pot, the coffee is hot but has gotten bitter from sitting in the grounds too long. So now I’m buying a smaller one.

Go green with a great product.
When I learned that there were plastic tubes in my Keurig coffee maker I had to switch. I didn't want microplastic particles from the heated plastic tubes in my coffee. And I didn't want particles from the heated K cups either. So I bought this wonderful french press. It's stylish, sturdy, & well made. It's easy to use & easy to clean. It's also well priced & perfect for 1 or 2 cups of coffee.

BEST FRENCH PRESS WE HAVE EVER PURCHASED.
My husband love to use a French Press to make his morning coffee. We have tried dozens of glass French presses but with in a few months they always break when we are washing them. I saw the Secura Stainless Steel French Press Coffee Maker on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It has been a game changer. The stainless steel insulated coffee pot is not only easy to clean but it keeps our coffee warm until we are done drinking the pot. The press components are easy to clean and are long lasting. This long lasting high quality French press is well worth the money!
