Anyone have success in reduced chipmunk kills with this? My cat gets a lot of those but does not catch birds

Does it get wet and soggy in the rain?

Yes it gets wet because it’s cotton fabric, but my cats don’t stay out too long in the rAin. Just put in sun or in dryer

can you use it without a collar?

No. It "covers" the collar, and you use the collar to attach it to the cat. You can choose from all cat collars, and for safety, always use the best-performing "breakaway" buckled cat collar brands. (Breakaway buckles release from pressure, automatically, to prevent a cat from catching the collar on a natural obstacle and being stuck. The collar looks really wide. What are the measurements?

Hi. The Birdsbesafe® collar cover is about two and 1/4 inches wide. They don't interfere with eating or grooming. They are also about 20" long. The length of the tube-shaped collar cover scrunches up around the cat's neck. They flare out to be very visible to birds. You can probably noodle around worldwide w. and find photos of cats wearing them.
