Great movie. Actors were the age and spoke the language that Shakespeare wrote.
Love it. Bring me back to when it first came out in the movies. I was studing it in my literature class when it came out.

Korean DVD production of classic 1968 Zeffereli/DeLaurentis movie
The movie is the 1968 Zeffirelli/DeLaurentiis film, but this particular DVD production is at best a grade "C".If you look closely in the product image, you will see Korean writing. This DVD release is marked "Made in Korea", it has what seems to be an age-15 restriction marking, and it features Korean subtitles... which I was unable to turn off, at first, even though I had selected English subtitles. I was able to get the subtitles working eventually using the subtitle button on my DVD remote instead of the menus, and the English titles appeared also to work via the TV's closed captioning (CC) option.More importantly: The DVD is marked as "All Regions" and when I played it on my region-free Philips player, it glitched and stopped a few minutes in. This happened multiple times. I was able to watch the rest by skipping the first chapter. The DVD menu screens are a bit clunky and feature an absurdly warped widescreen montage of movie scenes. The quality of the film to video transfer is at best a grade "B" and some scenes are noticeably clearer than others. It appears that a few seconds of film are missing from some of the scenes, although not the one scene you'd expect to be censored. Again, this is probably just poorly handled DVD production. If you aren't picky and just want to watch this film, or at least most of it, you might find this DVD is acceptable. I hope to find a better version.

Excellent traditional production
Franco Zeffirelli is a superb director and designer. He brings out the passion in these teen-agers romance and the spitfire in their anger. All characters are fully and believably characterized to make this improbable romance believable.

Value
Olivia Hussey is excellent and so is the original with Leslie Howard.
