The brackets are supposed to be stainless. It does not even look like 304 SS. I am using in marine enviornment. They should work well but I would expect to see rust shortly. Delivery was great! Product as described.

Had a cooler lid that just wouldn't stay closed, was meant to not have latches but needed them so I figured these would work. Did great until my son ripped the screws out on a fishing trip because he doesn't know how to be gentle with anything. Couple of stainless bolts and nuts and it's good as new. Definitely would recommend upgrading the screws but other than that they seem solid

I used 2 of latches on my tool box I bolted on the back of my four wheeler. Works great it has never come undone even at 90 kph on rough gravel roads. Adds an extra layer of security no matter what tools and gear that is bouncing around in the box.
