Does it work for arthritic pain in big toe joints?

No sure about arthritis but did work great with my bunion! Only hand wash this item.

Would this work for the toe nearest to the big toe which is bent and moving towards the other toes? Thanks

No. It is designed for the big toe. You could possibly strap the big toe AND the bent one in together, but it's not really designed for this.

I thought this was a set not only one?

This is a set i got blue one comes in two very comfortable and does work you use every day put on your feet in the morning everyday and you notice the difference i did for the first time and you see for yourself

Can you wear shoes, trainers & work boots with these correctors ?

I don't think you could as it pulls your toe inwards with a metal bar on the side of the foot. It does restrict you from walking normally. I usually use them at the end of the day just before bedtime, when I know I won't be walking anymore. Ideally I would like to wear them all night, but I am building the tolerance slowly. Hope this helps :)
