Easy patch tape but visible up close
I used this in a couple of ways to experiment. I put this up on the wall to fix a damaged corner bead, and then used it to patch holes made with wall anchors. (I am not a great spackler at all and feel like I just can never get it right). I finally got around to painting them yesterday. Pros: they hold paint. They have kind of a little texture to them. They don't peel. From far away they are invisible. Cons: Obviously you can see all of the edges up close and yes I could have spackled the edges but I would have been brought right back to the reason why I bought this tape in the first place, so I didn't have to spackle. I think for the corner bead especially, this is super smart. I slapped this up there months ago and even tho it wasn't painted, it didn't peel off and it didn't get any holes in it from continued abuse. Just for that i'll give an extra star.

Take the Stress out of Cracks by using Stress Crack tape.
I have used this tape before and three years ago I used it from a small pack I bought from Sherwin Williams. No one locally stocks 50 feet, not even the 20 foot roll. I have settling cracks in corners of my 25 year old home, they are fine cracks, you couldn't get a dime in them and I used this material for repairing these. They were painted and you cannot tell they are there and in three years there has been no sign of any problem. This longer roll I needed because I have vaulted ceilings and the problem is that in winter when the air is dry the joins in the drywall start to come apart, again only a thin line you cannot get a dime in between, These are long lengths and my choice was to re tape and spackle, and then re paint the ceiling. Instead I used this tape. I needed lengths of 10 feet or more. This stuff is easy to apply, covers easily with paint and best of all it has a random edge so that a paint line cannot be seen. It covers with two coats of pain and the material is an off white. The fact it stretches means that as the house shrinks and expands with the humidity, this tape moves with it and cracks do not show up. The tape does not disengage with the ceiling surface and I used it straight onto the old painted ceiling. Pros hate this stuff and want you to re tape and fill the cracks, which will result in exactly the same problem I experienced, again. This is an excellent solution. There are a number of YouTube videos of folks using this tape.

Amazing fix for painted warped paneling on old home.
I rarely LOVE products like this, but wow!!! I just used the whole roll to fix what I thought was unfixable. Rather than replace walls for big bucks, I just painted over warped, cracked & badly aged paneling from the early ’70s. I thought it would give a brightness to the rooms, which it did, but it also highlighted every bubble, crack, seam, warp, etc. with the shadows now visible against the white. This stress-crack tape is very close to the eggshell white paint I used, & I may not even have to paint over it (will know better in the light of day). I'm buying another roll immediately for a couple more touch-ups & to keep it on hand for the future. Oh - & it works great on the textured ceiling where there were cracks, & other issues including watermarks from past roof issues. If you have cracks, warpage, uneven seams, bubbles - BUY THIS. (No I was not coerced to write this - just love it enough to want the price to go down - the more who buy it, the better!) I would include pics, but I have no before pictures to show the dramatic difference. My only pic here shows two seams near each other, & it's obvious which is not yet taped with the StepSaver tape. The fixed crack was much more severe than the unfixed one, but it's completely smooth & ready for paint now. BTW - NO TOOLS NEEDED. You can just tear it with your fingers like duct tape (easier) & blend it into the surface on the edges with your fingernails. No need for measuring or using scissors or razor knife. Easy peazy.

Trash, save your money
I was skeptical about this before buying. This tape is SUPER THIN. So thin that you can see the Crack through the tape no matter how thing which defeats the purpose. Does not stick to the wall (was using on matte flat paint)... it kept coming off the ceiling when trying to paint!! To add insult to injury to this overpriced product, you can see all the edges through multiple coats of paint. You would absolutely need to mud over it to "erase" that. The thing, through sanding you would likely damage the tape in that.process which is why I chose not to mud over it. Complete trash, don't waste your money.

Works but noticeable
As you can see from my photos, the corner of the wall was slightly damaged. I put the tape on it per the instructions and then painted it again per the instructions and it works right, but it is far more noticeable than I had expected based on the descriptions of the product. Overall satisfied with the after versus the before, but slightly disappointed in the fact that I could see the corner was taped. The product is definitely easy to use, the thickness and texture is accurate as described. Just didn’t blend as well as I had expected it to.

Works well but not perfect
This is some super strong tape, great adhesive, and is very thin (about 0.08mm or about 30-35 layers per 1/8th inch). If it's in an area without much light or straight-on light then I don't think you need to spackle the edges. But, if light comes from the side (try a flash light) then you will see the edges and it's recommended that you put a thin coating of spackle on the edges. This is not going to cover big cracks and seems best for thin cracks that are not too deep. Also, if the drywall or plaster is not even then don't expect the tape to cover it. A couple hints when using. To get the backing off, I put a small piece of Scotch tape on the backing and then peel off the top layer. This helped a lot as it is not easy getting the layers separated. Also, don't pull the top layer completely off the bottom layer too fast as the tape will roll up and stick to itself. In general, I'm happy with the results but this is expensive compared to taping; however, it's a lot less labor and with decent results.

Amazing product.
This tape was easy to install and the edge made mudding it super seamless and easy. Great for DIY

Effective and easy.
I fixed a very large crack in my ceiling where the drywall sheets separated. I covered it with spray texture afterwards. The fix isn't 100% invisible but it has been one month and it is holding up perfectly. Easy to use and work with.

Don’t buy this
Don’t buy this. You’ll see shiny tape with jagged edges. You’ll have to take it down and start over properly . Don’t do it.

so far so good
so far so good..... it can't be any worst than some of the crap on the market. The one thing I did like is the fact that it is self adhesive and you can work the tape into the crack. I haven't used any drywall compound on it as of yet, however I will before I paint over it. The tape blends into a white ceiling pretty good can barely see the tape.
