Zippo Filigree Lighters

Such a beautiful lighter it really is I’m very impressed.

I really don't think I need to explain to you the quality of this lighter's materials or anything like that. This is, after all, a Zippo. Unlike some brands whose name used to mean quality but these days not so much, I can tell you that Zippo hasn't gone downhill. This is just as good as the one it replaced, which finally had its hinge snap off the lid after forty years of pretty much daily use.Also, the innards are actually the exact same. I checked it out and wound up popping the old one's guts into this one's case. Waste not want not, and they were the same. The old insides were still just fine after all.Now, the design. Absolutely beautiful, as you can see from the listing image. The only thing you can't tell from the image: In the picture the design looks pretty deep, or it did to me at least. It's not deep. That's actually a good thing, because that means it won't fill up with pocket, purse, or hand crap over time like anything will. Remember, this is going to last you decades if you take proper care of it.I recommend this to anyone, whether you smoke or not. A good lighter is a smart thing to have around, on par with a good pocket knife. And if that's your mentality in buying a lighter, then you're done shopping, besides picking your favorite Zippo design.

I was surprised to find a zippo at this price. It works great, but the filigree design has worn off almost completely after only a couple months: you could scratch it off with your fingernail. I don't even keep it in my pocket too frequently.

The media could not be loaded. I have always trusted the ZIPPO Name. They are quick, easy, durable, classic and classy. Beautiful design. Looks better than in the picture

When you think of "filigree" and a metal surface this is usually engraved into the metal, or you see it in decorative wooden trim where it is carved into the wood, whereas with this lighter what you get is a coating, not as cheap as a sticker....but essentially it's a sticker on the lighter. It's really just a sticker of "tribal" art you see in a tattoo flash magazine. Photos included show Amazon photo of product, photo of actual lighter upon arrival and a closeup of the decal used for the design on the lighter. If you're happy with the lighter not actually being engraved its not a bad looking lighter but if kept in your pocket or purse with other items the image will get scraped and scratched away in time.
