Enjoyed this book alot!
I read this book several months ago and I am surprised that there are some people that didn't like this book. I thought it was a very good read. I loved the relationship the main character had with his sister. The suspense was great. Were some things over the top? Not too much. The only thing I thought that dragged out a little too long was the "barrel" scene (I don't want to give anything away but that whole scene was a little too long).I guess when I like a story I ignore errors that others mentioned. Even though I prefer perfect punctuation & spelling it doesn't bother me if I like the story. The thing I find funny though is that the people who complain about that make more grammatical errors in less than a few sentences. Hard to complain when you don't use proper punctuation and spelling yourself;)I hope this author puts out a new book soon!

Slow starter, but once it gets started
This book is kind of a slow starter, but once it gets going, it is a page turner. At least, it was for me. There were also some cuss words. I did find the f word in there a time or two, but I will still give this book 5 stars. Most of the men in this book are not who or what they seem to be, so that keeps the story very interesting. I figured Winston out pretty quickly. It took me much longer to figure out that Scott wasn't who he seemed to be and even longer to figure out who he was. In the end all turns out well in my opinion. This book is a page turner, because you want to see what is going to happen next. I like books that keep you wondering what is going to happen next, and this book filled that need.

Action Packed...
I had mixed feelings about this story. On the one hand I thought some aspects of it was unrealistic and on the other, it was action packed with all sorts of twist and turns. Ultimately, I think it was a mixture of both and in the end not necessarily a bad thing because the action and twists and turns overruled. I like that there were twists and turns that you never see coming. I like when a book hold my attention and I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach because it grabs me and I'm wondering now how will they ever get out of this. It's called excitement. But for the unrealistic aspects of the story and a little bit of foolery, I might have given it four stars.

Great story!!
Not what I expected at all. I thought about this book when I wasn't reading, couldn't wait to get back to it. Thank goodness I was able to read it on my phone during the night and not wake my husband up! I don't sleep well so I read. I enjoyed this story so much! I recommend you read it.

A WONDERFUL CHANGE OF PACE
This book kept my interest throughout the book. The author did such a tremendous job of describing the people, the buildings, the scenery,... well... everything. I had no trouble picturing everything and everybody in the story. I admit to having guessed "who done it" at least six times throughout the book... only to have something new brought into the twist. Loved the plot, the grace and feelings put into it, and especially the feelings of danger and everything you should feel in a mystery thriller. I heartily advise mystery lovers to read this book. You will not regret it!

There Goes the Weekend!
I love this book! I picked it up as something to read for an hour (my usual start to my weekend days off) and I can't put it down. I'm a bit better than a third through and I can tell I won't be getting anything else done this weekend until I finish this novel. I've read a lot of mystery thrillers over the last ten years or so and was getting a little tired of, and bored with, the genre. I guess that's old news now! This is an exciting read, and I find myself actually caring about what happens to the characters -- unusual for me. I'd write more, but I really have to get back to this book....

My Sister's Keeper, the best book I've ever read.
I have read so many suspense novels, and this one I actually came upon by random! I was actually trying to find the book "My Sister's Keeper" that is about the cancer patient! By accident, I read this one. And let me just say, this is the best book I have ever read in my entire life. There is nothing that compares to it. It's pure fast-paced drama that never once lost my attention. The only complaint I have is that Bill Benners has never wrote another book. He is a fabulous writer and there is absolutely no way I could critique this book. Buy this book, you WILL NOT regret it one bit.

Glad I only spent 38p! unbelievable nonsense! Superman & Wonderwoman would be a better title ?
Starts out fairly reasonable. Murdery mystery, I thought? Yes, it is, BUT the main character is so unbelievably heroic and seems to have the ability to withstand, broken head, nose, ankle, drugs, drink ( shall I continue)? he is farcical. Not forgetting his abilities, to drive cars, trucks, motorbikes, boats, have cardiac arrests then be discharged from hospotal the same day?? His sister is not much better. Travelling around eerie crime scenes alone in her wheelchair, despite her horrific pain, just " grim determination" No rehab for her after 2nd accident - oh no! Out of coma - kidney transplant, all hunky dorey after a few months! Don't make me laugh!Even when his father is on his death bed and "hasn't got long" " tell him I'll drop by tomorrow" ??Seen worse plots in a Carry On Film. Thrown into this messy mix is the fact that the 'villain' is known to them all, even his new lady love and she never utters her horror at having lived with the blighter for 6 years? She is so loved up with her hero, she doesnt even shudder? In reality most of the characters would need serious counselling after all their traumas, totally ludicrous and unvelievable .If you like fantastical nonsense, this book is for you. If not, give it a wide birth, unless you need a good laugh at it's shambolic nonsense. You have been warned, it's rubbish.

My sister's keeper
Of the 70 or 80 kindle books that I have ordered in the last 2 years, with just a few more of them to read this is the one I have enjoyed the most to date. It held my attention from page one and swept me on effortlessly through a very exciting and well balanced mix of murder, mystery and emotion with even a bit of romance thrown in! The characters are all very believable and the suspense never once diminishes until the case is finally solved, even if, like me, you have already guessed the villain of the piece correctly. The author spent a generous amount of time tying up all the loose ends following the 'reveal' which I for one appreciated. Too many writers rush to clear everything up in one chapter, leaving you feeling emotionally cheated. There are one or two typos but nothing too annoying. In fact one was very amusing, where the girl sailing the boat 'secured the jib-sheet to a wench.' To landlubbers that should have been 'winch'.I shall certainly read more by Bill Benners and highly recommend this one.

Entertaining fiction
I can't believe it's only 277 pages, it felt like it was so much more giving. If you can get over the fact that Richard (who didn't seem very macho to me) endured all of that physical violence and injury and just kept coming back for more and that the Police were utterly and totally incompetent, then it was an entertaining read.I think the author worked hard to weave in all sorts of other sub-plots along the way and gave us plenty of hints to work it all out for ourselves before confirming it in the story.Reading this felt a bit like watching a raunchier version of an old T.V. episode of Diagnosis Murder (minus the hospital setting and Dick Van Dyke). Very entertaining and all wraps up nicely by the end of the episode.

A good book struggling to get out (but not succeeding)
This isn't exactly a bad book but it certainly isn't a great one either. If you suspend disbelief the book carries you along at breakneck speed and with considerable gusto. It's when you actually think about what you're reading that the problems become apparent. In a nutshell the story is so wildly unlikely that it cannot be taken seriously although I have to admit it's actually quite an entertaining read with some excellent descriptive passages, particularly when the hero gets caught in a storm in a small boat. There is a really good book struggling to get out here and I'd love to see a writer of the calibre of, say, James Lee Burke tackle the same basic plot which starts out so promisingly but quickly degenerates into coincidence and improbability. If you can live with the unlikely storyline and the annoying switches between first and third person narrative the book will help pass a long flight or train journey but otherwise it's a missed opportunity.

Utter rubbish, but I had to finish it
On any measure but one, this book is tosh. The characters are contrived, our hero and his girlfriend are stupid beyond belief, the plot is laughable, the family 'twist' is absurd and the denouement is confused and silly. The writing is leaden and any scene involving emotion is cringe-making.Who dunnit becomes pretty obvious at about 40% on the kindle, and by 60%, it is simply not possible for our hero to have failed to work it out, unless he was an complete idiot. Fortunately for the author, our hero is a complete idiot, as are most of his family and the police. Fortunately for our hero, the bad guy becomes an even bigger idiot, just at the right time. However, I had to follow it through to the end, so the book has something about it!
