Now Supplements, Zinc Picolinate 50 mg, 120 Veg Capsules (Pack of 2)

I started taking extra zinc after reading studies on the use of zinc gluconate in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). I started out taking zinc gluconate tablets, but I had to limit my intake to 37.5 mg twice daily (a 75 mg tablet cut in half) because any more than that would make me really nauseous, even if taken with food. So, after reading reviews saying that zinc picolinate is easier on the stomach, I decided to try it. When I received this product, I realized that I didn't catch that these are capsules, not tablets, so I couldn't cut them. I was nervous about taking 50 mg at a time, but I didn't need to be. I haven't experienced any stomach upset at all. I take 1 capsule at night right after eating dinner. I take Nature's Way Alive multivitamins in the morning, which give me another 15 mg of zinc. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I think the picolinate is working even better than the gluconate, even though I'm taking 25 fewer milligrams per day. I haven't had any HS lesions since starting this product about 7 weeks ago. I'm so happy not to have to take long-term antibiotics anymore to try to keep things under control.

The only type of zinc worth supplementing. Just make sure you're not overdoing it. Test, don't guess, then address.
