Amazing mic, a MUST
I am quite fanatic for sound quality. I did a lot of research for a good quality microphone. I have a Focusrite Scarlett and a Audio Tecnica microphone I use for some recordings, but for day to day use like gaming or video chatting, I wanted something practical that wasn't picking up every noise in the room. Also, sometimes me and my girlfriend play next to each other, or are even on the same chat room on Discord. All my research ended up here (I guess like you did). I tried buying one. And bought the second one a few days later :D It is amazing. The sound is absolutely perfect, as the noise floor is very low. I use Meeter Banana so I can also add a bit of extra tone and a noise gate, but with this microphone the sound is already good as is. It does have 2 capsules you can select. From video reviews it looked like the directional capsule had much worse audio than the omni one, but to be honest it is really good as well. Me and my girlfriend can be on the same Discord channel, sitting 1 meter apart, and we can talk without everyone else hearing us twice. The mute button is also very handy, also the fact that it lights up in red when muted, so we can talk between each other without disturbing anyone else from time to time. We use open back headphones, so we can hear each other without going through the mic (we mute each other on Discord basically). I am using a pair of AKG K702 and a pair of Sennheiser HD650 with these microphones, and found it easy to install on both. If I manage to post pictures on this review I will put them. Using open back headphone with their comfort and sound, together with a quality microphone, I think I have got myself 2 absolutely stunning headsets! Get it now :D

Go for the good quality product.
I tried using a bunch of Cheaper mod mic Alternatives in attempt to achieve what a mod mic is trying to do a lower price and went through a whole load of pain. As soon as I bought the actual product I could tell the quality difference immediately in both the sound quality and the build. I still use it for work and personally use well over a year later and it's still going plenty strong. definitely recommend. Very easy to use cables plenty long the actual mic function is very good.

Very good, worth buying if you want to use them for gaming or amateur video/stream production.
Pros: - Clear audio, I did have a previous version of the ModMic (with the 3.5mm jack) which picked up static noise from my computer. This static noise is none existent when using the USB mic. - Both omni and uni-direction modes available. - It is relatively easy to remove background noise using something like Audacity. - I would be happy to use this mic when making videos or when participating in online meetings. - Very convenient and easy to setup and use, works with pretty much any headphones. - The adhesive comes off easily when you want it to. Cons: - Picks up background noise. Using this mic I can hear my computer fans in the background, I can also hear my mechanical keyboard easily (Razer green switches). It is tolerable though (my friends have never complained). - omni directional mode does remove a small amount of background noise but I don't think that it is worth the sacrifice in audio quality. - The mute button is not longer a switch; instead it lights up. With my setup the button is out of sight. With the switch it was easy to tell if the mic was muted, with the button I have to move it into position so that I can check if it is lit up. This is a minor complaint. - If you plan on doing video voice overs or live streaming professionally and you want super high quality audio I don't recommend this mic. Instead use a boom or desktop mic. If you are satisfied with simply good audio quality then I can recommend the ModMic USB. - The adhesive can melt off in hot weather. This happened to me in the summer when it was 25-30 degrees c in the UK without air conditioning. Overall I do recommend the ModMic USB and am happy with my purchase.

Broken after 2 years
Was good while it lasted, 20 days after Amazon support ran out for this order my mic broke, it sits on my headset and never comes off, either placed on my head or it's sat on a headrest when not using it. Didn't stand on it or anything, just general wear and the cable came away and snapped. Good quality sound, never falls off headset, value for money 2 stars as i expect longer life for an £80 microphone.

My worst purchase ever, can't believe I spent £80 on this garbage.
This microphone is decent but ONLY when processed with a bunch of audio filters. And even then, it's not great because if you raise your voice, it clips like mad. Even if you lower the gain, it still clips unless you lower it so much that you are barely audible. For processing, I use Cantabile with 4 different Reaper plugins to make it sound even remotely acceptable, such as ReaFIR for noise suppression, ReaComp for compression, ReaGate for noisegate and ReaEQ to make the voice a bit more realistic sounding. Only then it sounds good, but only if you're not raising your voice cause it will clip. CONs: - High noise floor - it has a constant white noise. It's removable if you use real-time processing but that takes a toll on your CPU, plus the average user might not want to bother. I find this unacceptable at £80 - Clipping - it clips when you raise your voice even if the gain is low. Unless the gain is so low that you're barely audible, then it doesn't clip. Again, this is unacceptable. - Cardioid pattern (Unidirectional mode) - Utter garbage. It does not sound like it denies any sounds from the sides or from the back even in its "unidirectional" mode. It does not sound like a Cardioid pattern, at least to me. PROs: - IF you use processing and IF you are not raising your voice, it actually sounds really good, i.e. quiet to normal voice levels. But this is ONLY if you're using some filter for noise suppression and maybe a noise gate cause it doesn't filter out any background noise at all. By comparison, the microphone of the old HyperX Cloud 2 that I used years ago was better in terms of noise suppression, noise floor and it didn't even clip when I yelled. The only problem with that microphone was that it made my voice a bit muddy, but not a lot, so it wasn't a big deal. I seriously regret spending the money on this garbage. If it cost £20, I'd be very happy with my purchase, but at £80 this quality is unacceptable.

Voice quality is clear - longevity is an issue
This is the second ModMic USB I've bought. I have used both the USB and the 3.5mm version - the USB is so much clearer, almost night & day. I wish there were more options out there but when it comes to using studio quality headphones for gaming as I do, options are limited. ModMic USB is defo the best you can get as a stand-alone mic that you can attach to your headphones. My only issue with it is longevity - my first one died after a year. We'll see how long this one lasts.

good microphone. Some quality issues
A really good microphone. Combining this mod mice with EqualizerAPO software gave me exactly what i wanted. A great sounding microphone with minimal tinkering. UPDATE: Changed the rating from 5 to 3. Initially I was really happy with this product. However, after having used it for about 2 years I ran into quality issues. The rubber on the cable became very soft and tears with the slightest pinch. I also noticed that the rubber on the boom is also deteriorating, becoming very soft and most likely will start tearing soon. The plastic has also detreated on Base Claps and the microphone Clap. Both of the Base Claps included, eventually cracked. And once it cracks the force of the magnets is enough to eventually break the calp in to two peace's. The magnet on the Microphone Clap came out because the plastic lip holding it is very thin, it wore down and no longer holds the magnet.

Broke within 7 months of regular use.
After 7 months of regular use the microphone broke completely. It seems you only get 1 month warranty. Absolute waste of money, would recommend investing your money in something more durable.

Fantastic all round microphone for those that want to use non-gaming headsets
Have been using gaming headset for years for both PC gaming and general skype/zoom/ calls. Decided to jump into the relm of more audiophile level headphones for gaming however it is near impossible to find a good gaming headset that has both amazing sound quality with a decent microphone (although I must admit the Seinheiser PC37x came close). After purchsing a good pair of open back magnetic planar headphones my next step was to purchase a microphone. Wanted something with good audio quality but wasn't interested in getting a desk or broadcasting style microphone. The mod mic provides amazing audio quality, is reasonably good at eliminating background noise and was very easy to set up.
