Great for an Urban Garden!
I bought this as I have an urban garden in my backyard. I tend to take many summer trips (last year I did not have this and my garden did not do well in the hot eastern US summer) and I hate to have to rely on a neighbor to water all my vegetables. I paired this with a timer and it waters my garden every 4 hours for 10 minutes. I ended up buying more hosing and connectors because my garden has more than 10 plants. Even though I have more then 10 plants I did not have to get a bigger tubing size. I used a nail gun and rust proof nails to tack the tubing to the fence which was much easier then what they give you. Just be careful you don't put a nail through the tubing as I did a few times! Some duct tape or just cut the tubing and using one of the straight through connectors fixed that problem!

Not as described, but not Amazon's fault....
Below is my original review of the product, which I still stand behind, however, I wanted to advise that after reading my review, I received an email from Amazon customer service, offering me a choice of remedies, one being a replacement product, or a return for full refund, or if I wanted to keep the set, a reimbursement of 20% of the purchase price. The last option was the one I chose, since I had already put the set into use, and I wasn't neccesarily unhappy with the product, it just wasn't as described, and of course, Amazon had no control over the fact that there were no instructions... The reason I am editing my review is to let everyone know the absolutely steller customer service Amazon.com consistently provides, which is why I buy everything I can from this site. ******************************************************************************************************************** <<<First, the ad says 42 pcs. and waters up to 10 containers, but when it arrives, it has 40 pcs., and waters 8 containers... Second, there are absolutely NO instructions....if you already know how this kind of irrigation system works, it's not so hard to figure out, but if this was a first-time purchase, I imagine you'd be a bit lost...I am familiar, as I have my whole vegetable garden watered with various forms of this system, which is why I decided to get the patio kit for the flower boxes around my deck, but there are parts included that I'm not sure how to put together...>>>

Super convenient!
Great drip irrigation system. Bought this for my hanging plants on my back porch that I got tired of manually watering all the time. Now I just turn on the faucet until they start to drain and I'm done! Only downside is the length of the included water line is too short for a small patio cover.

Defective (sound familiar?)
Great product in theory and Rain Bird is about the only game in town for quality DIY sprinkler systems. However, this patio kit is defective! The t-barbs do not emit water. Shame on me for not coming straight back to Amazon when the first t-barb didn't put out any water, but I went to Rain Bird's website instead. After digging for about an hour, I found the problem was likely that the t-barbs weren't leaking because the "end plug" at the end of the tube was not installed. Problem here is that THEY DON'T PROVIDE AN END-PLUG IN THE BOX! Trip #1 to Home Depot...to buy an end-barb. Where, by the way, I also found this kit for the same price. So, I continued to install this system (with the additional 100' of tubing I had purchased at HD). When I completed the install, I inserted the end plug as instructed, turned on the water.....and nothing! NOTHING! I cut off the end plug and water came squirting out of the end of the system, but it wasn't making it out of the t-barbs to the plants. With no other options, I cut out a t-barb (because that's what you have to do to get the connectors out once you put them on a tube) and stuck a piece of pine-straw in down spout. It wouldn't go in all the way. At that point, I realized I had a very big problem that would require new t-barbs (trip #2 to HD), a cutting/replacement of all of the perfectly measured tubing, and some big deep breaths to keep from throwing the whole thing in the trash. RAIN BIRD: We get it! Mistakes happen! BUT PUT SOMETHING ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THE T-BARBS ARE DEFECTIVE AND ADDITIONAL ONES SHOULD BE PURCHASED PRIOR TO STARTING THE PROJECT! Oh, and include an end-plug in the box. Seriously, what does it cost? A penny?

Wife loves it and so do I
My wife is a master gardener and she has tons of pots all over the front and back of the house. Watering them is a real chore and I decided to take a first stab at a drip system. Based on teh reviews at Amazon I chose this system and some additional parts to meet all the needs for the dozen pots out front. What a piece of cake to install. If you can use a heavy pair of scissors or light wire cutters and can read directions you can install this as I did in no time. I did ten pots in under an hour. These are very large pots in varying size and with different plants. The hard part is knowing how much water to put on them each day. If you can calculate that, my wife did, then you know which type of gallon per hour filters to install in the line and how ofter to run the system. You will need a spigot mounted timer for your system. All you do is layout your plan, I did it in my head, then start at one end, cut the tubing, insert a tee in the cut you made, add tubing to the other tee point, insert the GPH filter (determines the flow of water out the tube), insert another small section of tube on the other side of the filter attach the bug guard to the end of the tubing and insert it in thepot with the holder provided. Move to the next pot and repeat. This is as easy as it gets. count the number of pots you have and I used a tee for each pot, there are cheaper ways but I find this worth the cost. Per pot you need a tee, a gallon per hour filter, two small sections of tubing (the kit allowed me to do a porch oon both sides with about 6 stairs)and a stake that includes the bug filter. The timer is optional but will make the system self-watering. Buck

Bad reviews may be older products? I had zero issues
I ordered this kit and immediately drilled holes in all the barbed t-connectors based on all the bad reviews. Big mistake. The T connectors are meant to have three openings--two on each side and one barbed opening for the offshoot. I mistakenly listened to all these negative reviews and drilled holes in the fourth side of the connector, which is a) too big to take the tube and b) not meant for this. I'm not sure if other reviewers received defective connectors that didn't have complete openings, or if they were confused as to its purpose, but either way, mine were working properly before I ruined them with an extra hole. :) After a quick trip to a local hardware store with rainbird irrigation supplies in stock, I was set with new t connectors and ready to go. I'll do my best to explain how I set this up: I stretched the tubing out to where I wanted it to terminate at the furthest planter. I clipped the tube, inserted one t-joint, then ran a second, shorter piece of tubing to the planter, where I attached a stake and dripper. I repeated the process for each planter. That's how it's meant to work. I guess the straight barbed connectors are for if you screw up and clip the tubing where you didn't mean to and need to reconnect? Either way, I had enough tubing, t joints, stakes, flow regulator/drip end, etc. for eight planters, just as advertised. I don't have mine going up a wall, just a long line stretched behind my outdoor couch and a couple of pots on risers that the tubes feed into. So far, no problems whatsoever with pressure regulation, loss of flow at end of line, etc. Overall, super happy with the less-than-twenty-bucks solution to watering multiple planters effortlessly.

It works, but...
This works ok. On the plus side, it saved my plants while I was on vacation. On the other hand, I had some issues. 1. The tubing is relatively stiff. It is easier to handle when it is warm, so if you are using it cold, you may need a helper. 2. I ran out of tubing before my project was complete. If this happens to you, take a sample of the tubing and a drip emitter to the hardware store to be sure you buy the right tubing. 3. Two of the emitters did not work. They appeared to have loose material inside them that plugged up the emitter a few seconds after turning on the water.

Great product at an attractive price
I paid less than half price by purchasing this on Amazon described as used bit in excellent condition. When I received it, an inspection of the goods determined that all parts were present and it appeared unused. The box was just a little beat up. Not the first time I have purchased things from Amazon Resold, and it won't be the last. The product itself is well suited for use on a patio, porch or other area with container plants.

Time saver
This was an easy set up. Bought a timer and works great. Saves me so much time. This is my second set purchased. Also bought some add ons so my back garden is well set up. I can go away and not worry about my plants dying
