Definite improvement over regular laces
These elastic laces are such a great upgrade from using regular laces in shoes. No dealing with laces coming untied while walking creating a tripping hazard. No annoying knots you have to pick at so you can get your shoes untied. While no instructions weren't included in any of the laces in this set, they are still easy to install. Thread the lace through the lace holes as you would for a typical cloth lace. Once done, grab the round bead with the press-down button (I call it a pinch bead). Insert the lace ends through the opening in the pinch bead while the button is pressed down. Put on the shoes, adjust the fit, and press the pinch bead to secure the laces in that spot. The pinch bead should now be close enough to sit on your shoe. Once you get the laces to the right length, you cut off the excess while still leaving a few inches that hang past the round bead gripper thingy. Then you thread the ends of the laces through the back of the opening that is between the pieces of the end cap (two solid squares of plastic connected by two smaller pieces of flexible plastic) just enough so that the ends of the laces are a millimeter or two away from the edge of the plastic and fit neatly into that part of the end cap, then press the two squares of plastic together until they clamp together and stay firmly closed. This secures the cut ends of the laces so they don't fray, and you can tuck this under the length of lace on your shoe that is down closest to your toes. The length of lace between this end tab and the pincher piece is the extra you have to adjust how tightly or loosely your shoes fit. These particular elastic laces aren't long enough for boots, even low height hiking boots. They're also too long for kid's sized shoes as you will waste a lot of the lace. They make smaller and longer laces for those sizes of footwear. For tennis shoes/sneakers these laces are a great replacement.

Perfect diameter
I'm a huge fan of elastic laces. Bought this particular set for my soccer teams. 6U kids loved it because they could put on their own shoes. 10U kids just liked the lazy factor, plus they're quick to put back on when inevitably a shoe comes off during a game. I put a set on some old shoes to replace a really cheap elastic lace that broke. They provide good tension without being too tight. Lock Laces have a very small sweet spot between too loose and too tight, and the thinner, cheaper elastic laces have to be pulled pretty snug to get tight enough. These are the sweet spot. They're plenty long enough for adult shoes, and you can trim off the excess for kids shoes (or use 1 lace for 2 shoes, if you tie a square knot). These are thicker than the cheap laces, but thinner than the Lock Laces. The slider is adequate for the job, feels sturdy enough. The lace clips fall off, but I've not had any that actually hold for longer than a few weeks out of any brand. I usually leave mine full length, square knot at the right tension, then do a bow so they look like real laces. These are perfect for that; the cheaper laces wear thru and break, and the Lock Laces are so thick they come undone. Will buy again this fall for next soccer season, or any time I get new shoes and need good laces. Oh, and forget about the flat lace replacements that thread individually. Those are hot garbage, and wear out long before your shoes ever will.

Love them!
Perfect easy to use laces. Works great even on long trail runs. Fits every shoes Iโve put them in. Gives enough stretch for a slip on shoe without loosing up so much you need to readjust for a run.

Make them easier to use and understand video how-to
Liked: colors, elasticity, length can be customized, donโt have to worry about laces coming untied as I have with all of my laced shoes (shoestring manufacturers: shame on you!) Iโve just gotten them today, and I may find more problems later. Iโll edit. Disliked: couldnโt get the โlockโ to close without biting (take that literally) the lock with my teeth!!! That should not be. The video showing how to put them together rushes past the burn the end part too quickly. I had to view that whole video many, many times to be sure of what to do. Some audio wld have been helpful but not giving three stars bc of the videoโnot being able to close the โlockโ was huge to me. Not being able to close the lock means garbage-bound bc you donโt find that out until youโve cut the laces!!! Edit: Disliked: the cover for the end of the laces wonโt lie down over the shoe. It sticks out about an inch above the shoe. Had to tuck it in under the laces. Not awful but not good either.

Excellent, except for extremely active boy who is very hard on all his shoes.
These are easy to install and work great and love the colors. My son is extremely hard on his shoes and literally steps on his own feet often, and with that abuse, these have held up fairly well, but occasionally the small plastic piece that you install and the ends of the laces have fallen off. For that reason, I do suggest ordering a multipack, but these have served our needs well.
