It’s a genuine product. These last a lifetime (of course silicone ring needs replacement every five years). Never wash in a dishwasher, handles can corrode (and replacement after 15 years might not be available). Hawkins or Prestige (or Butterfly) is a matter of personal preference as to how lead operates. Hawkins lid is non forgiving to slightest dents, Prestige (or Butterfly) is. Newer model (with dip in the lead to capture froth) is even better.

My two other pressure cookers are cylindrical and accommodate stacked inserts (so I can use them to pressure-cook several items at a time). This pressure cooker is a pressure pan, not designed for stacked inserts. I knew this when I bought it so I was not disappointed, although like other reviewers, I found this pressure pan somewhat smaller than expected. But it's a great size for about 2-3 cups (uncooked) of most dals. I like that you can prepare your sauces or spice base, add the uncooked lentils and water, and cook the whole thing directly in the pot. It also comes to full pressure very, very quickly. Overall very sturdy and cleans nicely in my dishwasher.

Loved it and used it a lot. The lid does however need to be pressed down while closing it. Not any issue at all. The quality of material is excellent, its great quality steel, easy to clean and looks pristine. Size is large and good for making vegetable curries or dals. I like the shape of the pan as it helps saute things easily. But after a while the gasket has become disfunctional which happens with most pressure cookers. But I have not been able to get a gasket of this size and this is preventing me from using this cooker. Overall great product and I would buy it again.

I had the same pressure cooker for 7 years and it worked great. I again purchased two of it 2 months ago, one for my self and another for my friend As a gift, unfortunately they do not work like before. I found it’s problem after return policy so I cannot return it now

It is been almost two weeks I have used this pressure cooker. Everything works well so far. Product was well received ( without any damage).

This is a good one for the gas stove .has some rubber smell coming off from the gasket,, But does cook well on the gas and induction.

Good solid product, however after first use I the lid handle became wee bit loose so I had tightened it myself with screw driver. All goes back to assembly line quality control. Overall nice pressure cooker. Price is a little higher. :)

Product came in good condition and works as expected.
