What to Wear, Where: The How-to Handbook for Any Style Situation Paperback – March 1, 2011

I LOVE this book! I wish I had it years ago! I had looked at so many other fashion books and how to style guides, and nothing compares to this book. It is straight forward, fun, well explained and is full of colorful pictures so that you can really see what they are talking about. This book has made me so excited about fashion, and clothing, and it has taken away all my anxiety about shopping or worrying about what to wear. BUY this book NOW. Love this book. Awesome suggestions, really stylish visuals and easy to navigate.

The basic fashion advice is solid, but not groundbreaking. The outfits chosen for photography are not good. They are not elegant. They have too many layers. They are too trendy and the trends are from the early 2000's. The photos are reminiscent of old Lucky magazines. The authors admonish the reader to avoid athleisure wear; but then advocate wearing bib overalls. At least two of the photographed outfits are oversized, ratty, bib overalls. The photographed outfits are not for adult women who are serious about their careers or who wish to look like adults at non-work events. There are much better fashion and style books: pass on this one.

Nice little book that offers not only an advice on appropriate attire for any occasion, but also beautiful photographs with two sample outfits for each. The occasions range from bowling with friends, or a night out with the girls, to black-tie events, meeting your beau's parents and going to an art gallery. I found it entertaining and useful at the same time. A lot of beautiful photos too.I often thought the world needed a book like that, especially after going to an early afternoon summer wedding this past summer, and being astonished at the parade of rather formal dark navy dresses completely unsuitable for such an event, not to mention uncomfortable and impractical. So yes, the world needed a book like this to help people not to be either underdressed or overdressed for various events.In addition to extensive list of events, in the back of the book there are two lists of wardrobe essentials for each of the two models from the book - Katherine and Hillary and an index for every single article of clothing from the photos along with a designer name which a found very helpful since I liked a couple of things and wanted to know where I could purchase them.

I truly love this book! When in doubt, this book will guide on what to wear for different occassions! The pages are nie and glossy and the book contains plenty of pictures, and is easy to read. I also like how most of the items mentioned are accessible, and are probably already lurking in your closet. This book was a great buy, and I love to browse through it just for fun!

The book itself is well done with excellent photos and many suggestions for outfits that range from running errands to big evening events. It is not, however, a suitable guide for anyone over thirty. Therefore, I am passing this on to my daughter. So, a good book but only for a limited audience.

Great book great tips and lots of pictures to demonstrate if you are completely addicted to fashion and styling like me you'll love this book great coffee table book!

This book is a helpful starting point to establish what to wear when, even if some if the styles are dated, the overall concept is classic and transcends over time.

I think it is an itneresting book if you need ideas about what outfit to wear on a specific theme. The presentation though is a bit too colored in my opinion.

I really liked this book. It was just what I was looking for. I find it hard to know what to wear for different occasions, and this covers so many, and provides a template and gives you an idea of the overall tone you should aim for. I like that it also features two types of people for each scenario, so there is always an option for if you are the 'bigger' girl, or the 'more relaxed' girl etc. Not too much text, but what there is is helpful and provideds further options. A good reference for the clueless or indecisive!
